Timmys tourer, Tray Done!!! Almost!

Postby UAV on Thu Mar 17, 2011 6:56 pm

Nah they are different heights. I did this because it would look stupid if I took the roof racks off and the bars were 200mm above the cab. Also it will look better when I get the canvas canopy if it follows a similar height/line to the cab. I will remove the rear rhino rack and get an arb trade rack (2200x1250) that I can bolt on and off the tray bars and I will lift it up a bit to suit the rhino racks.

hmmm who said i was getting one  mine wont look as fancy as yours, just colourcoded, ladder racks, rear boxes, alloy checkerplate capping on top of sides and racks. then fab up a bracket to bolt through the triangle on the bullbar that will hold my front rack for planks :D . when are those flash toolboxes off the drawings going on?

silly sheds, tell all your secrets. will put some pics up for ya when i do the front, its just a sandwich plate over the triangle with 3 locating bolts so it cant move, then some rhs welded to that with another piece of rhs thats slides into that holding the rack.

looks great Tim. Great idea with the tow bar and putting the recovery eyes on there, how much higher do you reckon it sits now ?

Tas, the towbar sits about 250mm higher than standard and my car with the 33s is 100mm higher than standard. So overall about 350mm higher :D

SEJ, the paint is pretty much spot on now, really happy with it. And i just fitted a rubber ute mat in it to protect the floor and stop stuff sliding around.

Now with it all finished it weights about the same as the factory tub the guy reckons. This is based on them lifting the tub off and the tray on. It would be pretty close to being the same as the factory tub is pretty heavy.

$770 has 4 lift up windows on the side, plus 2 lift up flyscreen mesh ones (front only) and tinted front and rear windows. front and rear dust flaps (to reduce canopy squeezing in) its easier to show u the pics tomoz. Fella couldnt get it done today - too many ppl asking what canvas they need for various shit!!!

But will be done by mid morning tomoz.... :D :D :D
