I definately dont want that 'Drone' 2 3/4" sounds like the go am going to visit my mate at Midland mufflers in the morning and see what he says....

Been watching Slim's posts closely and i think I will stay behind the first two cats and the 'y' , too expensive and too much stress with the sensors and too much heat, I may start a fire in long grass..............

Homer did you listen to the utube I did of the nice induction noise from the snorkel ?  :D

Yeah mate, sounds nice. It would be much better through the window compared to a video mike too 8-)

Changing the third cat to a hi flow improved the note of mine too, so if you change that one out (get rid of it entirely if you can get them to do it) it will sound even better. With 2 other cats already there I don't see the big deal with pissing off the third one!

I picked up 5kw by my last dyno, but don't know if it was the cat, being run in more or the replacement pistons...I'm going cat becuase it makes me feel better about spending the $200 or so it cost

:D :D :D

Booked in for next Friday.....2 1/2" exhaust :D

Mate is going to cut the flange off behind the two front cats to suit the 2 1/2" pipe, then put a flexible piece so I dont break it 4wd'n, then a large muffler and a bit of tailpipe to go over the rear axle. :D

He assures me it will not be loud and should just have a nice rumble. That gets rid of the third cat/resonator whatever it is, we are going to cut it open and see :o

I will try and video when it is done, mate can drive it while I video or viceversa whatever

I am looking forward to it though :D

:D 2 1/2" exhaust fitted today...... :D

A little noisy around 3000 rpm but otherwise love it :D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yWifDW7vxk

The collector where the two pipes join from the engine is already 2 1/2" and so the stock flange join with the springs to allow movement was retained.
2 1/2" pipe from there to a large free flow muffler then pipe over the axle then hot dog and last a short peice of pipe to direct the hot gases away from the gas tank, I'll take some pics........

Thanks guys I am very happy with the exhaust, cost $400 that was discounted, mate runs the shop :D

Homer yes the third one is a cat  mate said its for emissions, not performance as he threw it in the bin

Have 2 1/2" pipe from the flexible joint that is just after the front two cats......( the joint is 2 1/2" or mate would have cut the joint out and replaced with a larger one)

Called into local ARB shop today and now my bullbar is going to be here first week in October
Not happy
Cant wait to see kwyjibo xrox bar, might even get my money back and go that option.....

I am undecided with the side rails, I want them but the steps are not as strong as most of the rock sliders :?

Maybe buy the rails and get them strengthened 8-)

I reckon they could be strengthened but I like two things with the rails/steps...one is the steps sit higher than the stupid alloy OE steps giving more ramp over and the rails give some protection from directionally impaired kangaroos that seem to want to jump into you and not away from you. Had a few near misses on the Flinders trip

cheers

Nice truck.
I'm thinking of doing the same mod to my exhaust.
Can you make a video of how it sounds from behind?

Hey Carlo mate I will soon do another vid

Well today I fitted compression latches to my hard lid, it's a pain to keep getting the key to open the back and the lid comes open while driving when it is not locked so the best option...... put latches that will keep the lid closed when driving around and when I need to, lock them :D

Had to cut away some of the underneath to get the retaining bracket in....
