Custom made X Rok Bars

Postby MUD LARK on Sat Sep 18, 2010 2:27 pm

Hi Tritoneers,
Just got some pics of my new custom made X Rok bars, with a new front grill. I am also, getting rock sliders with steps and rear bumper / wheel carrier made up. With all this steel works being done, that's including primed and colour coat to your own vehicle, the price is reasonably cheap and I mean cheaper than to get done in OZ and what you save will most probably pay the freight cost and with change!!!
The guy that's making it, is a guru, he has his own extreme offroad course on the same property as his work shop. He participates in local extreme offroad events for over 10 years, well knowledgable in any off road vehicles, mechanically, suspensions and fabricating to anything!!
I haven't seen the finish product yet, only from these pics, as I am still working away in OZ but due to get home at the end of this month, but so far I am pretty stoked :D :D :D !!
He designed the front grill & bars, so if any of you guys are interested, PM me and I will pass on his email address and you can ask away to your desire!!

Cheers,
Mud Lark

Looks good but VicRoads/RTA/QLD TPT etc would have a field day with that - not to mention Harold Screwball...

^^^ Will he mention the 'oops' grinding incident before he even got started....maybe it will start like "Instructions....Firstly, don't turn on the grinder, walk to the front of the car and then turn around to your mates and say..I might start...oooh shit....you didn't see that"

Tritons should have a vent hole for the headlights anyway

That's a tough looking bar mud lark..is that the old washer bottle I can see near the wheel?

Might cop a knock on entry angle?

Yes, the water bottle is exposed & the plastic guard as well on the left, looking at it from the front, the guy's going to cover both sides with metal sheets!! I will look more into it when I get home!! ;)

Kwyjibo's bar came with a plastic bag style washer bottle with a pump motor pre attached so he can remove the washer bottle completely. Might be an option?

I think Jop has a washer bottle from a Pajero that fits inside the inner guard too if you wanted other options :)

Kwyjibo also cut the inner guards off on both sides so it's not there at all...looks good and gives heaps of front clearance.
It would be worth having a look at his thread (that he is probably going to post today) for a couple of ideas in that area 8-)

Custom made XRoc bar

Postby MUD LARK on Tue Oct 26, 2010 8:27 am

To described in one word, the aggressive appearance, the one of a kind & the functionality!!
"AWESOME"!!
Finally got the bar fitted yesterday and the picture tells the story...(Will post pics soon)
The guy that designed/fabricated/painted & installed knew exactly what I was after!!
After a long searched of what I wanted in a front bar and then describing what I wanted, the final result is...
To top it off, the cost is relatively cheaper than any bull/Xroc bars in OZ!!

MUD LARK go to www.photobucket.com and create an account to post up pics. Once you have pics in there copy and paste the IMG code of the pic you want to use in the post. Hope that helps

I was having the same issue the other day, think it is more to do with dave's server or something but links to host sites like photobucket still work, will wait patiently for you to get the pics up :D

Just completed the install of WF Catch can.
Since, there is NO space between the dual batteries & the brake booster,
I decided to install the filter behind the top side of the air filter & attached it there,
siliconed the 2 x bolts, connected the hoses and it's all sorted!!!
It's a fair distance to the turbo and I am happy with the location :D :D :D

PM Daryn or Dave mate and bring their attention to it. Hopefully there's a back up of the first pages somewhere they can restore from.
