Almost complete!

Postby Banjora on Thu Oct 14, 2010 10:47 am

I've had the Triton for almost 10 months and thought it was time to share some photos of the mods and add-ons so far. New from the dealer it was a standard GLX-R with factory fitted towbar the only extra. This was a mistake as i have since found out that it bottoms out every time you go over a reasonable dip and rips off the trailer electrics.

Since then I have added the following:

ARB Deluxe Bull Bar with Fog light kit
Warn winch XD9000
Old Man Emu Suspension
UHF Radio TX3100
Safari Snorkel
ARBCanopy with canopy vent
ARB Roof rack
ARB Air compressor mounted under the bonnet
Side awning
Dual battery system with Redarc 12V charger. Battery mounted in metal battery box in the tub.
Storage drawer system built myself using ORS ready made aluminium drawers
12V-240V 300W inverter
Cooper 245/65/R17 ST’s
Teconsha brake control unit
Anderson plug and battery isolator

I haven't quite finished. Bash plates are a must but waiting for the finances to improve.

Very nice, even if it is black. Looks very tidy so far. Are you going to change out the towbar at some stage do you think? I have the same problem and was thinking Mitsu's rear protection bars and the GLX towbar but if someone else could do it first....

It's actualy dark blue but accept it does look black in some of the shots.

I will change the towbar eventually and put rear protection bars on but not for a while.

The bash plates are next. The factory fitted plates are pretty crumpled. (See my current post on the General Discussion posts)

The ORS ready made drawers are a good option if you want to do the rest yourself. The drawers cost me about $900 plus another $300 to do the rest.

I forgot to include on the list the reversing camera. Makes a huge difference for parking.

With the trailer plug being ripped off, I have made a alloy plate that bolts ontop of the original mounting point for the plug to be mounted to. The plate is then bent up at an angle to it never hits again. I will eventually get pics, when I can be bothered.

Careful nitro as that's not an approved modification to a genuine accessory might void the warranty.

good trick with the link, took me to my own shed. Any chance of a side on shot to show how high/low the bar is under there? Do you know how much the protection bars are to buy and what does the fine print say on the towball sticker? Sorry for the cross examination but I feel like I'm getting close to something here...

and I would have sworn that truck was black but dark blue? Oh well, still a fine looking specimen.

Another really nice MN, Well done! 8-) Almost complete? We all know what seems to happen here! Yours certainly is the most complete though. Streets in front of mine.

Any chance of some pics with the compressor and dual battery controller install?
