You're right mate.... but what can we do? Just wait for the law to be retreated after the appeal process.
BY the other hand, the seats are one of the best mods i ever made to my ute, the difference is amazing, big support at high speed turns, great back support and as i made a high seat base the vision range is really great. Ah.. and the tent a/c, your right...is really cool. 8-)

You have to have bullet proof glass and armour but can't have a bull bar unless you hurt someone

Jeez that must burn    sorry to hear that BS mate.

Maybe mate, thats why the stealth design of the winch base, with the hawse failed and winch hook behind the license plate and the rest of the base cover by a metal grill. But who knows maybe it'll not be enough and i'll have to eliminate the winch.

That's pretty savage, Valerio. Making people remove existing bars is draconian. At least here, when they were talking about banning bullbars, it was only in the city. Venezuela is a country with lots of undeveloped areas - does the ban apply to these areas too?

How about your other "toy"? Do you have to take the bar off that one too?
Chris

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

Well, the law is very draconian as you say, because didn't make difference between the car use, but these is not the first law which can be modified (the government is a specialist in that area) they introduce the law, them the people react and them they modify the law.... what can i say... welcome to south america! jejeje
With the other toy maybe i'll have no problems because it's like the car got out from the factory and is mostly a military vehicle.

Hi valerio, thats bad news with the law over there, must be a few pissed off
I do like your redesigned winch mount and was wondering if you took any photos of the make up and the way it's mounted.
Have you found your temps to be higher with the lower front virtually sealed off

Hey Boatpc, i didn't check the temp at normal functioning yet but in order to prevent a temp raise, already installed a electric fan, just wondering if connect it with an automatic temp valve or with a manual switch.

Yes ag911 is the best choice but i'm just figure it out were to locate the temp sensor switch and which sensor to use, because it seems to not exist any triton model with electric fan, I was thinking to locate the sensor at the thermostat housing but the screw there is so small that I don't know if I can find a sensor to fit in that hole.

Since my 2nd daughter was born last 19 January I had not too much time to go to the factory so the triton front bumper is on slow-motion, mostly coordinating by phone but these is how it's looking right now, i'm still waiting for the warn dealer to give me the "hawse fairlead" to replace the "roller fairlead" . Hope you like itClick to view larger pictureClick to view larger picture

Valerio´s Triton

Postby c-dale on Tue Mar 06, 2012 8:38 pm

Hi Valerio,

I've had a look behind my bumper and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of room. Did you need to move the intercooler? Any chance on some measurements for the mounting plate?

Cheers mate, looks realy good. Would love a winch, just not too keen on a bullbar. Looks like you have that sorted :D

Hi C-dale
Mine is a V6 petrol so it has not a intercooler, I reckon in a diesel triton must be a challenge to suit a winch in such narrow space, I finished the winch base, tomorrow i'll post some pics in order to you can see the space surrounding the winch and to make an idea about the space with the intercooler installed. Hope you can do it.

Hey mates, here some pics of the finished job, I forgot to take some pics of the inner section were the winch is seated, I'll post those pics later. Sorry you'll have to click on the pictures. Click to view larger picture
Now i'll modify the license plate hinge angle in order to get more clearance for the winch cable, you know for really hard recovery angles.

Now the police can't notice (at first sight...of course) that is a winch with a really hard base installed in the original front bumper ;)

Since my last post I'd some mods to my triton. One of those is the addition of two Recaro Prosport seats for the girls.
