Nice work Valerio. It's scary how big the armoured vehicle market is getting. There is already over 2000 specialist companies and the number is constantly growing.

We have worked on a lot of everyday vehicles ranging from armoured Corollas to Landcruisers and Hiluxs. Now a lot of the vehicles are being supplied to middle class families through Asia, the Middle East and South America. Not just defence organisations.

It's sad that there is a need to go down this path but it is well worth it in the long run protecting yourself and your family.

Out of interest, how much does the Triton weigh now with the +2 armouring?

Some friends and family say the armour is a little bit exagerated for the situation at our country, but i prefer to go not worried at the road.

Brendan the armour weight is about 140kg. it's very light, because is 97% goldflex armour level 3, instead the ballistic steel that must companies use. The weight is mostly at the windows. Windows are level 2 and the rest is level 3, that's why they call it level 2+.

Most recent mod is the ARB canopy wich arrived corrugated finish instead smooth finish as i ordered, i spoke to a friend who has a paintshop in order to change the finish to a smooth finish by applying hookit sand system, and they did it so i get my smooth finish at the end :D.

Wow. Your car looks like a Tank!

I'm curious - have you got any metal framework inside your ARB canopy, or do you think the canopy will be strong enough with the roof-top camper and you on it?

Oh - and my wife want's to know if you still have the ability to use A/C?! (You really impressed her with that! )

is the ballistic material a 'fabric' of sorts, I am assuming it goes on the inside of the panels and the glass, is that a direct replacement or layered inside the factory glass....

Yes TJR i made a framework inside the canopy as i order the ARB original support and never arrived, i decided to make my own, in fact i made some mods because i add two links bar between the two main front and rear archs to made the frame more rigid with less weight.

and to attach the roof top tent i use a bolt in rubber (because i don't like the roof racks and to mantain the tent the lowerest i could to prevent aerodinamic drag and to prevent garage crashes).
With the a/c i just had to modified a little bit the base at the tent and the support and to add a rubber to prevent damage to the canopy window when it's open.

Hey tassie, the ballistic material is a sort of a fiber-fabric-carton like.
The windows are totally replaced with a 19mm ballistic glass wich is a sort of many layers of glass and ballistic coats with different functions, there layers to disperse force, anothers to fragment the bullets and anothers to cath it. The windows are certified to resist .22 to 38, 9mm, .40, .45, machine guns, 357 and others similars. I made a test firing 7 projectiles of "9mm fullmetal jacket" on the same hole and the glass resisted without a problems.

A couples of month ago I made the washer bottle modification, I bought a universal washer bottle kit and installed attached to ballistic steel battery protection surrounding the battery of my triton (These protection was added when I got the armour work) At first i used the electric pump that came at the kit, but it was so so crapy  it leaks water, so i decided to use the original pump and open a hole to install it on the new bottle, I use the original seal and apply some sikaflex, it was ok. These is the result

These bottle has 1.5 lts capacity, it's not the best but is enough

Hi guys.
Since in my country the super intelligent people at the transit government institute decided that bullbars are dangerous, everybody has to take off the bullbars and wait for a final decision because the organized 4x4 groups appeal the introduction of these law. So meanwhile to avoid problems with the police i decide to took off the bullbar and get the original aspect again  with the buy of a new original bumper as a consequence
But as i don't want to loss the winch benefits, a stealth winch base is been developed at my factory. :twisted:Click to view larger picture
I'll replace the roller fairlead for the slim hawse fairlead in order to get it hyde behind the license plate.
Other point to got mad  was the double fender flare cut that the arb dealer made when installed the bulbar.... i don't know why... Click to view larger picture
As it was impossible to find a pair of front fender flares and i need to use the ute, well i decided to make a link path between both fender parts.Click to view larger picture
So far these is the result
I'll post more pis next week.
