This car is like a bad drug habit. It is taking all my money and time, my family are concerned, but new mods just feel sooooooo good.

Of course, but none of the others are any good, and they are all bad for resale. Except the LE Platoon Green which seems to have a small, but passionate cult following...

Got any plans for a chip, tune or exhaust?

Note to self: It's a petrol Steane. I knew that but forgot Steve :?

I think Salt36's V6 has an exhaust. It certainly had a nice note to it when I met him on the High Country trip last year.

I can recommend the unifilter foam elements as well, I think the diesels and petrols share the same airbox.

My next buy is going to be some drawers for the tub as well, did a bit of research before xmas and was scared off by the pricing, but I suspect they will really make the back of the ute way more useable.

OHHH i will have to ask the " salted one " about that ... and yes your right the petrol / diesel have the same airbox
iam also looking at draws too as one major part i carry is about the same size as a fridge .. and quite sensitive ... so their on my agenda too as are diff locks and an auto mod
i have been meaning to get a unifilter also but been too lazy to go to repco ... and i have found that the snorkel sucks in quite a few bugs ( i got a cup full of locusts out last trip )

^^^   The 'bug catcher' I have the same problem.......

Do yourself a favour Steve and get the exhaust and Unifilter, makes overtaking easy and fun
on a winter's day leave it fifth and you go round in no time :D Summer with the A/C on I go back to fourth and it still gets up and goes waaaaaaay better than standard....

Around town I dont notice any real power gain unless I'm revving past 3500 then you can feel it :D .

A thought guys, I can source the long drawer runners etc and have all the gear to make custom ply boxes......
not sure about the real heavy (Black Widow) type runners though, they seem a lot stronger than a ball bearing runner. Just a thought to custom make a set up.....

And yes definately get rid of the side steps....... :lol: Triton looks way better without them, see;

Well tassy .... i was told that their all new compounds ... so not sure but mine feel fine and i wouldn't hesitate getting another set as road holding is good wet and dry ... i was pretty amazed actually ... as long as they dont chop out in 30 k ill just leave it at one set of wheels no noiser than my worn BFG's and i can live with that

thanks mate. I went from the BFG KM2 to the MTZ and the difference was noticeable. The BFG's were definately 'softer' on the road if you know what I mean even though the pressures were about the same, maybe the MTZ doesnt need as much air as the BFG....anyway, glad to hear you are happy with them

can you throw a pic up with the side steps off???

Custom exhaust, mate has the local Midland Mufflers........ The two engine pipes meet at a collector after the cats and oxy sensors. The collector is 2 1/2" and mate built a 2 1/2" pipe from there( threw the third cat in the bin  ), very large free flow muffler and then up over the diff into a hot dog and short tailpipe to direct the gases away from my LPG tank :D There is photos in my build-up thread.
