thanks Mud, if you need any tips/hints just drop me a PM ;)
might be a bit far to just drop over, but if you want a close-up look we might be able to sort out something.

What size cable did you run from the main battery to the ctek?

will have to get back to you on that... memory fail :?

I can tell you it was heavier than required as I wanted to be able to back-feed to help kick the main batt if it struggles to start.

I used 25mm2 cable for mine. The bigger the better for lower line losses. I calculated the line loss between the battery behind the seat and the one in the tray is only 0.05volts.

voltage loss using a Ctek is not really critical due to the way it works.

It increases the output voltage using some electronic trickery

I can have 13.8v at the main & over 14v on the aux batt 8-)

I understand that as I have a ctek as well. However the the second dual battery is in the tray and 4m away from the first dual battery. The larger cable helps with charging both.

it looks like a good unit & has very good specs

just have to work out where to mount the tank & compressor.

I was thinking of mounting the tank under the tray in front of the spare, but not sure if I have the space :?

I will set up a quick connect hose coupling to the manifold for easy quick airing up.

I will no longer be the last to finish airing up after a trip

G'day Snoozy nice build. When throwing the canopy on did you think about removing the tonneau cover hooks and possibly filling with a bit of liquid metal? Or are you happy with them being there?

yeh, must do something about those
I will get around to removing them one day & get some of the plugs from Ford to fill the holes.

Air on Board (AOB) compressor & 9lt tank fitted 6 months ago

the stats...
Duty cycle: 100% @ 100psi
Max working pressure: 200 psi
Amp draw: 23 amps
72lt/min max flow

real life testing...
50psi in 1min
85psi in 2 min
100psi in 2min 30sec
115psi in 2min 57sec (this is shutoff pressure)
switches back on at 85psi

tyre fill (265/70-16)
16psi-38psi in 1min 15sec
it takes 7 sec of fill time until the compressor cuts in, this takes the tyre from 16psi to 21psi

I used a toggle switch with a missile cover to stop it getting knocked on

I already had power in the tub to an anderson plug, so I doubled that up & ran a new cable to the other side & added a fuse panel to allow a couple of other add-ons later.

I bolted all the parts to the wall using nutserts (rivnuts) These are a great way to bolt on accessories & much more secure than self tappers.

from initial testing I am very happy with the system. It also gives very good pressure in short bursts using the blow nozzle.

the guy at AOB was very helpful & delivery was also very fast.

fitted some more lighting a while back 8-)

gotta love LED strip lights- 5m rolls off ebay
I will fit out the canopy next.

I wired it up with a switch that will turn the light on when the bonnet is opened.
you can see the switch in the first pic-RH rear

pretty happy with the end result. very even lighting all over the engine bay.

this strip light works off a miniature tilt switch-when the window is lifted the light comes on.

I used the yellow coloured lights to reduce the attraction to bugs. I can leave the window up at the campsite to give just enough light & not attract every bug & moth in the district.

The position also lights the tailgate nicely so we can use it as a table for food preparation on the go

Bonnet lighting came up a treat! In the process of doing the same, had the lighting stuck up there earlier in the week and went back to finish off the rest and noticed it had started to come off. Just wondering if you used the tape that comes with it, or something else? Its as if the tape loses its stickyness due to the heat under there.
Would silicone work?

Yeah, the self adhesive is a bit ordinary,

I used silicon to help hold it in place as it is good in hot areas.

you will need something to hold it in place until it sets. I used masking tape to hold it for a couple of hours.
