Variflex's Triton

Postby variflex on Sat Mar 19, 2011 6:52 pm

Hi all,

As it's a wet weekend I thought I would take the time to post some pics of my Triton,

The main use of the vehicle is a tow horse for our camper as well as getting me to work and back each day

Well here she is running Bridgestone D694's

Looks good mate, do you have a suspension lift?

Sits nice.....

Mate those are some serious solar panels, i'm guessing 2X100 watt ?

Hi Salt,

No lift kit, thionk it's just the gradiant of my front yard giving the impression of a lift however Mitsubishi have recently replaced my shock obsorbers under warranty.

The solar panes are 120 watters, a little overkill for what I need but on a low light overcast day they still produce enough to keep my batteries full

Getting out and getting it dirty just like it was built to do!! :D Nice shots

I spotted you in the big red truck in High St a few weeks back......I was in the wife's car so didnt bother waving ;)

Hey Variflex,
looks like a good ute and great camper trailer set up. Newnes looks like great destination, was there any need for recoveries or was it a pretty straight forward drive ?

Very good to see you getting out and doing some of the local tracks we're lucky enough to have 8-)

You'll have to join in on a NTN trip the next time we head up that way ;)

Thanks Gent's
Al, should have given me a wave anyway, I could have spent the rest of the day wonder who the random wave guy was

Yeah there were a few recoveries, fortunatly the Triton didnt require recovering though, It was quite wet on the weekend we were there,

The Bridgestones did require a bit of an air down, I usually run 49 psi on the road, dropped to 30 psi and they were great, I reckon that was half the reason i didnt require any recovery

Mikalo, thanks for the suggestions on the UHF however I will leave her all the way she is now, cheers anyway

Reel Dreemer, Thanks again for the plates, I heard them hit a few rocks over the weekend, money well spent I must say, great job there, Photos below.

Haro, our plan is to get out on the 3rd sunday of every month to do the local tracks,

I actually have a thread about it on another forum Anyone is welcome to join us if your interested I am happy to post the details http://myswag.org/forum/index.php?topic=14359.0
