looking very nice G-mac.

looking forward to the pics with the suspension installed, you will have a big smile on your face when you pick it up. I recommend ordering Ultimate's other little Triton improvement to go with your suspension, the one with the red and green button :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

it will definately bring a smile to your face when you take it for a drive ;)

Thanks for the comments guys. The misses picked up the truck from Jonlin Automotive this arve. She noticed a massive difference, I only had a quick drive so too early to tell - I'm keen to see how it handles off road now.

Love the look of it tho :D

Alrighty, here's the figures from my dodgy tape measure (both taken with approx 3/4 full tank):
Before After
Driv side front: 522mm --> 571mm (+49mm)
Pass side front: 518mm --> 570mm (+52mm)
Driv side rear: 573mm --> 639mm (+66mm)
Pass side rear: 569mm --> 635mm (+66mm)

Will measure again once it's had a chance to settle.

Thanks to Brendan from Ultimate for supplying the kit and Lewis from Jonlin Automotive for ordering everything and the great install :)

Yeah avatar is well over-due for an update - it's boring me now :lol:

Bugger, I'll be in Boonah for the weekend and tagging along with the Condamine trip on Sunday - definitely keen for a Glasshouse run soon though - haven't been up there for a couple of years

I do like the full silver and colourcoded barwork, but the Ultimate's just complete the package. The stance with the slightly nose down attitude really makes them look much better.

I'm glad I got mine, amazing how much quicker you can take the round abouts now :twisted:

Mate, this is one of the cleanest, nicest looking silver tri's ive ever seen.

I love your car so much i think im gonna copy it lol :lol:

I never thought i would want to throw an ARB bar on until now.

Great work.

Silver is by far the best colour to maintain and the most stylish. :D
Dont have to worry about bush pinstripes as much as the other.

Once again great work.

Looks like i have a bit of work to do now!

Just a bit of an update - I recently bought a Pelican Spacecase (900x550x400) to sit in the back of the tray to house the dual-battery system and recovery gear. I wanted something that I could bolt to the floor and was lockable, as we weren't intending on getting a canopy at this stage.

Click to view larger picture

The dual battery system consists of an Optima D31A Yellow-Top AGM (75Ah) battery, a CTEK D250S Dual charger, Baintech 6-way fuse block and CTEK MXS10 to top up the batteries if needed. I also mounted a Baintech mini digital volt meter to the side of the box to keep an eye on the battery. A huge thank you to 61rth, who answered the million-and-one questions I had along the way.

I made sure to leave space on the side to fit the ARB Premium Recovery Kit, so this could also be locked away. However plans have changed (again) and we're getting a canopy now, so although I'm really happy with how the box turned out - I think there would have been a more space and cost-effective option to store the battery system. It also makes getting to the recovery gear a task, so I'll probably swap in some 'less used' gear once the canopy is on.

We also bought a set of Korr lights from the Brisbane 4x4 Show to install in the OzTent and inside the tray/canopy. The set we bought was their 4-Bar Camp Kit. So far we've been really impressed by not only the brightness of these lights, but how tough they are! The guy was smashing them on the bench and dunking them in water in their demo - quite impressive.

Tray-cey is booked in for, what I hope will be the last round of accessories for a while, on 16th to 18th May.

She'll be getting the canopy installed with internal bracing and steel rack incorporating jack & shovel holder, awning, diff breather extensions, reverse camera and Warn 9.5XP winch.

I also need to get around to getting a Boab water tank for the tray and installing the LED reverse lights from Prestige Offroad.

An update on the suspension now that it's settled in:

Stock --> Day of Lift --> 4 Months Later
Driv side front: 522mm --> 571mm (+49mm) --> 567mm (-4mm) (+45mm overall)
Pass side front: 518mm --> 570mm (+52mm) --> 565mm (-5mm) (+47mm overall)
Driv side rear: 573mm --> 639mm (+66mm) --> 636mm (-3mm) (+63mm overall)
Pass side rear: 569mm --> 635mm (+66mm) --> 635mm (-0mm) (+66mm overall)

I'm a little concerned how much it will drop when the additional accessories are installed, but I'll measure again after it's done.

And just a couple of picks of our new sleeping setup:

We got the OzTent RV-4 with the fly, peaked side walls and deluxe front panel, which sits perfectly (size-wise) on the CGEAR Multimat (6mx2.4m). Bloody love it once it's all setup, but probably a bit much for one nighters (which will be most of our upcoming trip :roll: ) 30 second tent is now a 30 minute tent :lol: :lol: ah well.

Geez I love the look the Silver utes, especially the ones that are done as well as this.

Think I made a mistake with the dark colour, shows too much dirt and scratches.

Can't wait to see it with the Canopy, and all the other bits.

great job on the dual battery install mate. It looks really neat and tidy. Sorry I didn't get a chance to actually give you a hand with the wiring. You obviously didn't need my help anyway- the instal looks better than what most professionals would do.

Now that I am looking at a canopy, I'm also second guessing my battery install and might relocate it to the tray so i can run something bigger. Just depends on how many cups of inspiration I have. It's in the too hard baskey for now.

Like everyone else above has said, this is a great looking ute ad looks even better in the flesh.

G'day g_mac.
I'm a newbie. I'm picking up my new 2014 MY15 GLX truck in a few days. Just wanted to say that your build thread, and (never quite) finished product, has inspired me. I settled on a silver GLX and was already dying to deck it out with a colourcoded ARB deluxe bullbar and rear step/bar. Your truck has reaffirmed this aspiration... and then some!! I can only hope my rig will look half as good as yours.
Cheers,
Mark
