Failed Ultimate Shocks - need a loaner set!

Postby Bammo on Tue Dec 17, 2019 10:28 pm

Hi All,

I replaced the springs, struts and shocks with an Ultimate set a couple of years back. Unfortunately one of the front struts started leaking earlier this year (just as the warranty ran out!) after about 15,000kms and then the other one started leaking too and the front end is all roly-poly again like the OEM suspension was.

I contacted Ultimate who offered to rebuild them for me if I sent them over and I ... did nothing.

Anyway, I am keen to get them sorted out now and don't really want to buy a whole new set - would rather just pay to have the ones I have fixed.

Does anyone have an old / dodgy set of OEM front struts they can loan me so I can send the Ultimates off to get repaired? I've got spring compressors and can do the changeover but I cant be without the car for the couple of weeks it will take.

Will pay for freight of course...

Cheers
Bammo

It would probably help if you told people which model you have.
GLS MQ Triton, ARB Summit front, rear and side bars, Carryboy canopy and rack, Dobinson heavy duty suspension, Harrop rear E-locker, Drifta drawers and a few other bits and pieces.

Where are you based Bammo? Maybe Ultimate can send you a set?

I have a set, but have been out in the weather since they were removed.

A fully, have you checked whether ultimate can do you a changeover, would save a lot of double handling?
