What's the plan for the gap under the lights and around the sides there?

where possible the bumper clips back in on the sides. further around a flashing will be fabbed to fill the gap from head light to grill

Just keep in mind that the bar moves relative to the body work by a surprising amount. Typically you leave something like a 20mm gap between the edge of the bar and the flares for example or the bar will move and pop the bloody things off. That bar looks like it has been tucked in pretty close (although that could be the pictures) so you may need to allow for that movement a bit when you fill in the gaps.

thanks CD.
Mounting is slotted so ill check and maybe get it lowered and try and utilise a little more of the bumper, would prevent any fab required.

No worries, as I say it could be the photos and the angles. To me though it looked really close to the bottom of the lights and the grille. At least you can measure it and work out how close it is before deciding which way to go with it.

I find with mine it is more a pivoting sort of side to side movement as the two chassis rails move differently. It's hard to explain without a visual. Just take it over some ground where the wheels are moving at different heights and see if it shifts at all relative to the other stuff.

20mm has been allowed for chassis twist.
All the bars he has constructed for navaras dont have a problem and hes given his a a hiding!!
Im the first triton so we will see. going to flex with a fork lift to work out allowances and go from there, this is just for photo purposes at the moment.
Thanks cowboy dave, in development stages like this we need information like this

Perfect on the forklift. I was going to suggest ramps but yeah forklift is a good way to go.

Hi all

Quick question, has anyone done a 2 tone paint job on their triple hoop bar ?? i have a ARB Deluxe winch bar i got on the cheap from a friend (really wanted a Sahara or a Rhino 4x4 bar, but for 200 bucks couldn't say no) and i was thinking of painting the main bumper part white (to match the cab) and the hoops Black.

Not sure it is a good idea though hahaha, has anyone done something similar or have some examples of somthing similar??

What are peoples thoughts? think it will look good or rubbish ?

Cheers

Lights look like they should be on the rear of a vehicle :?

So have these been tested for compliance or is that not happening?

Bullbars

Gap is 15mm. We lifted it up with a forklift and bounced it a bit and the worst chassis flex we got was under 10 so we went 50% more to be safe

Thank you

Why is the ARB Sahara bar so expensive? Seems like a crazy amount of money in comparison with the other similar bars with the triple hoop. Is it just because it's popular?

The amount we pay for stuff here in Australia is insane, really really insane.

It's probably because it's less popular.

They'd sell more if they were cheaper, I'm sure.

If it's not popular they aren't going to sell any at 2+ Grand a pop, seems counter intuitive to make a bad seller expensive . I just don't see the price justification between the deluxe and the Sahara. I'm actually interested in the Sahara, just didn't think it would be more than the Deluxe.

I'll probably end up getting it regardless, the bars for the Triton for the most part seem ......ugly. I'm not a big fan of the looped lights.

Perhaps it is their glamour/luxury offering? And people will pay more because it looks more attractive?

I must admit it's one of the few bars I like because it seems to hug the body tighter and the loop seems to be the right size (not too big and stretched across the car like most front loops).

I'd probably agree there. $2 Grand plus fitting does seem a lot for a hunk of steel though. I guess that's the going rate these day's. I've always been a fan of paying for quality, just that something as basic as a bull bar, I have to wonder just how much value is in the difference compared to a $1400 bar, especially since it seems it's just as rust susceptible as other bars (from my brief research).

I seem to recall reading somewhere, it is due to the extra brackets and supports in the sides of the Sahara bar that make it cost more to make. I think it weighs more too. :?

All this is based on my poor memory so don't hold me to any of that.

Can't argue with that ;)

Now I just have to see if I can knock anyone down. Anyone purchased one in the Perth area recently? If so how much was it? I'm expecting around $2300 with the fitting if I'm going off the list price. Might get a little off that. $2 including the fitting would be a decent deal I think, but I'm not sure if these guy's even haggle.
