It's only the first hole that hurts Chris, once that is out of the way you'll be fine :D

I used rivet nuts on mine for the pillar bracket and am very happy with the result.

Yell out if you need some moral support if you decide to fit it yourself.

Have you checked out the price from the sponsor?
This install is actually of the sponsors product, would be worth a look!

Currently the sponsors website doesn't list any snorkels in his snorkel page, let alone a price

Have a look here for more on nutserts and rivet nuts.

Just cover the raw metal around the holes well with some touch up paint.

Give me a call if you need holesaws - I have the right sizes in the shop.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

Rivet nuts it is then haha! Yea if I could borrow them that'd be great Chris! I think my set at home only goes to 3". Once I get the snorkel I'll give you a bell.

Opposite lock just quoted me $838 for the supply and fitting of a safari snorkel, get stuffed haha!

I just ordered my snorkel off fleabay, cost about $150, given the opposite lock price I am looking at a saving of almost $700!

Of course, that is assuming I don't muck it up big time :)

One catch ...it's the washer bottle...the old one won't fit without modifying and plastic welding...

Usually with these cheap kits you get a square one that won't fit any where....
Do a search and you will find how others have got round this ....by modifying the ome bottle...

That julelife4x4 one you linked to above on eBay sydneymark comes with a replacement bottle that replaces the factory one and fits fine. Check out my build thread to see what it looks like if you want a look.

At some stage all of this ^^^^^ is going to have to move into the cheap ebay snorkel thread. I get why it started here but all this talk of cheap ebay alternatives is a bit disrespectful given the thread started out about a sponsor's product don't you think?

I also used this for my snorkel!

One question oh, what's the best way to check that you have sealed it all watertight?
