No guarantees but if you have open channels on your crossbars, whether on top or bottom, these can reduce the noise of the air rushing past:

I have the Whispbars or whatever they're called from pro-rack but these rubbers made them quieter still.

Put some rhino vortex bars (track mount) on last week after some nervous drilling and reading instructions three times at least :? very happy with result and minimal noise once all rubber inserts were in. It took about four hours taking my time. The instructions on the actual bar brackets were vauge so took it a while, partly because of the curved track making fitting the front bars square and sitting right was a bit frustrating.

This is my tradesman roof rack. Is quiet and can hold 150kg. The after sales service from tradesman racks is fantastic as this was only the second one they had made for a Tri. And the first version was made a lot of noise. So they made another with a different deflector on the front. Now I only hear the tires more.

Just cause it says it can hold 150kg doesn't mean you should, the roof itself is only rated to 100kg that's why I have the same roof rails as greenhornet

Umm according to MMAL the roof is rated to 50kg (id be real happy if some one can prove me wrong on this), its even on their web page and remember load = roof rating - weight of racks...so in essence 3/5ths of nothing and note when leaving the black top that figure is halved to allow for shock loading, this will be in your racks manual.

G'day team,

Does anyone have an ARB rack on their Triton? Tossing up between ARB and Rhino-rack...

Apparently the ARB rack can only take 80kg up top whereas the rhino can take a bit more. If you have an ARB rack, how much do you get on the roof before hitting your limit?

I'm doing the Simpson in July, want to carry a couple of jerrys, hi-lift, shovel and some bulky items... too much for an ARB rack?

Cheers for your help

I went with this. Liked the design and options for it. Looking forward to the next trip and not having to pack the rear like some sort of rubik puzzle.

Has anyone got one of the ARB deluxe steel cab racks - as shown below:

http://www.arb.com.au/products/roof-rac ... s/3800250/

They look good, but they need to be bolted through the roof - which means the interior roof lining needs to be removed. How big of a job is that - considering all the interior lights, bluetooth microphone, airbags etc ??

Any other feedback on them?

Thanks

I have the Pro Rock and a basket on myML and it carries a spare tyre all the time and on our trip to NT and then Cape York with a heap of four wheel driving and bush bashing it carried a spare wheel, a high lift jack, a chainsaw and a heap of crab pots plus two jerry cans of fuel. never had a problem in 10200klms of rough driving. :D

I have one very similar to this. Picked it up from Repco when they were 50% off. I used it for my trip down south over Xmas. Did 6500 kays and some of that over dirt. Held up really good. Never moved a bit.
Its nice and light and to be honest couldn't fault it.
