Just fitted the new released rated recovery points from
http://www.roadsafe.com.au. I have a ARB bar and ARB bash plate on my car. The ARB bar is the only one according to the fitting instruction this points will fit. On the ARB bash plate i had to cut out the corner a fraction so they fit around the recovery points.
Roadsafe 4WD FITMENT GUIDE for RP-TRI02 FEA Rated to 5000kgs per tow point
As fitted to MN Triton
• These points follow the same instructions for both sides.
• Place the tow point against the inside of the chassis rail with the return section under the chassis.
• Align the rear most bolt hole with the hole in the chassis closest to the radiator.
• Mark the 2 remaining holes (closest to front and underneath) with a centre punch
• Remove tow point and drill holes to 13mm (recommend using multiple sizes to get to 13mm)
• Paint holes to protect from corrosion
• Place tow point in place, recommend to clamp with G clamp or similar at this point
• Feed nut plate on wire into chassis rail (local modification 1)
The supplied nut plates want fit thru the hole in the chassis rail, I cut hem down with the angel grinder as per below pictures
Insert the nut plates behind the front wheel as follows:
• Each tow point will have 3 x M12 Hi tensile bolts, each should have 1 flat washer and 1 split washer.
• Apply a split washer then flat washer to each bolt and install through tow point into the nut plate, finger tighten all 3 at this point
• Once in place you can tighten all 3 bolts to specified torque setting.
I have an ARB bar fitted witch was no problem or restrictions with the Roadsafe recovery points. But the ARB bash plate needed to be cut out slightly where the recovery points where.
After I made this cut out on both sides the bash plate fitted back in its place
No problem.
