Yes mate. One is a tow point the other a tie down point. The hook can be easily straightened out during a recovery.
Keen to get amongst it!!

The brackets certainly look better for recovery, but it looks like they straddle a couple of deformations
in the rails that are part of the designed crumple zone.

This may now interfere with the air bag operation - just be worth checking out where you stand with ADRs.

I think 'easily' might be overstating it. Fridgie gave his a caning to achieve what he did. I've seen snatches and winches off them without similar impact. Just be sensible about it and don't expect to drag a laden vehicle out of a sills deep sand bog and you should be okay.

Don't believe everything you read

The hook is the tow point and the loop is the tie down ;)

So i shouldnt attach a 10T shackle for recorvery to the circle one and use the hook instead?

You shouldn't be using a 10T shackle at all.

The hook is, according to Mitsubishi, a tow point that can be used for recovery and somewhere in here is a link to a test that Mistubishi did with a Pajero, proving that it is plenty strong enough for normal recovery work. The hook should not be used with a shackle at all, just a snatch strap.

It's all about being sensible. I've used my hook for recovery and never had a problem. But, the recovering vehicle needs to take off gently in 1st or 2nd low, allowing the strap to stretch and take the load. I've also used the loop, together with the hook, in a double line winch pull and I believe that it is strong enough to cope with the halved load, but I wouldn't use it alone in a snatch recovery.

Very happy with the result

Fitting is very fiddly, they pick up one original hole and 2 new one have to be drilled in the chassis
The nuts are welded to some steel flat bar and they are fed down into the chassis with flexible wire so you can line them up with the 12mm high tensile bolts.

Are the above items been rated at all???

No they haven't been rated.

As 5th stated up ^^^^^ nobody has or sells a rated recovery point. The cost to legalise them would not be cost effective enough. It comes down to user responsibility at the end of the day.

Have you used these recovery points yet? How did they go? And how much did they set you back?

Those recovery points above look ok but why bother. :-? Each to their own I guess. ;-)
I think the factory hook is more than up to the task if you ask me. Like other have said, just be sensible when doing recoveries. I use a bridal between the hook and loop point when doing heavy snatches but have also just used the hook with no shackles and have never looked like bending it like Fridge did. I've winched off it on a double line pull a few times too with no worries and thats with 3t on board being suctioned into black soil.

Look very similar to Richard's from Adventure Off Road in Perth. Still it's good to see some more options becoming available!
