The brackets look pretty substantial, but I'm a bit concerned about the bolt diameter, esp. as there are only three.

Those bolts would be subjected to significant shearing force.

i cannot see for the life of me where the single bolt on its own would nor a flush surface for the plate to mount too.

So after multiple shots of vodka and some brewskies ( sorry i have married to the same vagina for 17 years today) i found the tow point was hitting the arrow. Not sure where I go from here...

Not sure why you have that bit circled. The tow points are to the left of the hook in your picture. On the end of the chassis rail. They fit with x rox but I suspect you need to remove to access the hole to get the nuts in the chassis rail.
In yours I suspect you would need to remove the plate/mount I can see.

Mine, and its been nasty places  Factory nudge bar all the way.

And the issue i have is they can't / won't tell me if they'll fit with a nudge bar

The instructions above say no to fitting with a nudge bar.

I would take the bash plates off. Climb under my Triton and have a look for myself.

Gee that front area of the chassis is a mess! All the bits tacked together, you'd think it would be better to punch out a whole profile of that assembly in one piece and cut out all the welds and voids.

So got them in finally. 110 lbs for the torque wrench right? 164nm was the maximum for these bolts but all I did was squish the split washers. Had to run out and get some more?

Got under mine the weekend and had a look at how I am going to mount them, this is going to be a little bit of a mission as it looks like you have to remove the bulbar to get to the end of the chassis so that you are able to slide the nuts on the wire down the chassis.
Is this correct or am I missing something. :?

I just had a look the "plates" fit in 2 of my holes, 1 very close (probably tap it in with a small hammer) and one it doesn't fit. It looks like the edges of the plates need to be chambered or rounded off. really just tidied up a very small amount.

From somewhere

One person used hole A and his plates fitted in.

Two with bullbars fitted used hole B one had to tidy up the edges of his plates to get them to fit.

Is it the pic or just the way I am looking at it?

The forward facing mount looks like a 'crush' point for front impact.
If it is a crush point, then the plates will prevent it from working as designed.

Do you think that the recovery plates will have an effect on the crush affect?

I would imagine the bullbar would have a far greater negative effect than the recovery points in terms of head on collision/crush point.

It would be interesting know what impact these mods have on ANCAP rating etc. Will not effect airbags etc but surely more force will transfer into the cabin with reduced crush and crumple.

Weight that up against having safe front recovery points and must work out 6 of one and half dozen of the other?
