Inter cooler is at the front so will be of little help imo :?

Your only choices are to retro fit off a patrol, hilux or subaru or some auto shops will also sell aftermarket types. For the effort and money though I see no point ;)

Rearwards facing vents would help better pull the dust through to cover the whole engine

Will be interested to see pics once done :)
I've seen them in sca and autobarn, can't imaging they'd be the greatest quality and you'd have to get them painted to suit. Are you planning on cutting and fitting it or just sticking it over the top for looks?

ease up guys
each persons interest and desire for their vehicle is unique.

We have a couple of quiet members here with very hotted up "street machine" tritons.

amalize has grafted in a evo bonnet scoop

chapman bros (offroad racing) have a fibreglass bonnet with evo scoop

the older tritons MK, have a top mount intercooler and bonnet scoop to match.

so quite a few options and if you search the forum you will find a few pics of our shape tritons with bonnet scoops.

I agree 26, even at over 40 I'd still like a nice scoop or perhaps flutes like the old GT falcons had. Just to set the vehicle from the crowd. 8-)

Nothing wrong with a nice sub woofer either.

Actually I can't argue with that statement. I've actually still got the sub, amp and all the wiring out of the Hilux. Been very tempted a few times to throw it in the triton..

I don't mind the evo bonnet on the red triton. Would not do it myself though.

Besides aesthetics I do think that a bonnet scoop would have some merit. Especially if you are looking at doing a fair amount of touring and want something to help with things like heat soak.

40+ degree outside temperature, even hotter temps coming off the black top, long drive hauling a bit of a load on boost - its hot outside, so you have the A/C cranked to the max.

Wouldn't take long at all for the engine and turbo to generate some crazy heat under the bonnet. A scoop or vent would help remove some of that heat when moving and even more so once you reach your destination and finally pull up for the day.

I have seen more times than I care to remember people pulling up after a big run in our summer (pre-wet) only to jump out and pop their bonnets to let all of the accumulated heat out. Some are that hot you can actually see the heat shimmer (or whatever it is called).

I wouldnt put one on my 4x4, but I can see why some people would.

... actually the rear facing scoop creates a low air pressure area and it will actually draw air into the engine bay.
I used to have one on my old holden torana and when it rained you could see the water droplets actaully get pulled into the scoop ..

Thermo fan would help, however under bonnet temps creep up once the engine is turned off (heat soak)
- Which is why people resort to having to pop their bonnets to let the heat out.

I love the bonnet scoop, its one of the reasons that I liked the Hilux, looks  & does serve a purpose & there should be no discussion on a subwoofer, they should be standard on all cars..DOOF DOOF DOOF AHHHH the old days, nothing like only just being able to hear a train horn
