Sounds like the consensus is that TJM is not really a diy kinda snorkel though.... ;-)
I'm not so good with the advice  ... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment???

TJM Snorkel fitted

Postby stuartiross on Fri Oct 11, 2013 5:19 pm

It took TJM in Canberra 4 hours to fit ... And they know what they doing ... Can't imagine how long it would have taken me over the weekend. Well worth.... Looks awesome compared to the safari. Even on a challenger.

Yeah that's a fair price mate. I installed mine myself and it was very time consuming... Took me over 5hrs. And I nearly drilled right through a wiring loom while making the hole in the inner guard with my hole saw.

It's a shame Airtec have changed the ram head on the top :? I prefer the look of the original. ;)

Hi srb,
A mate and I were thinking of fitting a TJM snorkel to my trito over the chrissy break, is it really as bad as everyone keeps saying? Its just that TJM want to charge me $300 for fitting which id much rather spend on more accessories! :D Do you have any pics of your install by any chance mate?

Got any pics of the internal plumbing? I was considering the Safari purely because it looks like the plumbing would be more direct.
Also any pics of the bracket on the A pillar?

Yeah the install on the TJM is a bit of a shocker! But if you're mechanically minded you'll be ok. Just take your time and extra care when cutting and drilling. ;-)
Triple check when marking up your template and use a stepper drill for the bolt holes. I used an small air saw with a fine blade for cutting the large holes through the guards, this worked very well. Be super careful not to cut through a large wiring loom hiddin inside the inner guard and there's no warnings in the instruction on where it is.
I try and find some pic for you. ;-)
