Finished Custom GLX-R Rock Sliders

Postby GLX-RSilver on Sun Oct 05, 2008 6:33 pm

Hey there i thought some guys might like my pics of rock sliders which aren't finished yet but will post photos when done.

Factory side steps are 415mm for the ground with 2 inch lift.

Heaps more clearance with side steps removed.

I'm angling the rock sliders up a little to increase clearance.

Clearance with the rock sliders are approx 440mm under the sill to 480-490mm on the outer edge. I am thinking of increasing the clearnces by checking the rock slider to clear the sill lip.

I'm also making the rock slider level with the wheels to reduce any possible damage.
What are people thoughts about that is it better to be slightly inside wheel width so tyre side biters can work?
Will post finished pics soon.
Cheers

they look good another job well done,
my thought on hight is to come straight out from sill so if you land hard on something with them they have got a bit of room to bend before they hit the sill, butt only you know how far you want to push your trit so only you know how mutch protection you need .

Look's good mate.
I love how the triton look's without side steps it look's so much higher off the the ground.
I'm no expert on rock slider's but I would keep them just a little bit inside the tyre width.
Look forward to see how my set will look on my ute.lol :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Hey there sorry don't have any drawings as i made them as i go. They are 1800mm long and 250mm wide and they are made out of 6mm thick stream pipe with 45 and 90 degrees bents welded in.

I've already started my mark 2 set as i sold these and the new ones are made from 4mm S10 stainless steel pipe.
