awning advice

Hi, looking at getting an awning for a bit more shade at camp. Who has them and what size did you go? There are some many options, I'm thinking 2m along the siee of the truck and 2.5 pull out. Thoughts?

Foxwing or similar all the way. I actually run a foxwing and the older arb awning (2x2m iirc) on opposite sides, gives the whole rear and sides from back door complete cover, great for kicking back reversed up on the beach watching the sunset :)

I've got a tigerz11, one of there first ones they bought out still no issues with it $119 delivered for a 2.0m x 2.5m does the trick just fine!

One thing though if your up the beach with it (we always are) always peg or tie them down, one good gust and it'll do backflips!

remember to use your car to its advantage.
what i mean is park it so your car also covers the sun, where possible try to have the sun on opposite side of the awning if you get what i mean.

I run an Ironman 2m along ute and 2.5m out. Mounting brackets and bolts are Stainless Steel. They probably all are, but anyway. Double prong Pegs about 12" long and ropes, build in LED Light strip. Plastic knuckles which are cheap to replace if they snap and also have some torsional give. I procrastinated about an awning for about six months. I now use my Ute for work and play so it comes in real handy. I paid $295.00 and the 4wd shop threw in the Rhino Mounting kit. Which is not much coin but hey, they have to eat as well. I suppose not as cheap as others on the market, but I'm happy with it. Below is a link of it in use.

Hi mate I picked up mine from black wolf on one of their sales last year. Its 2.5x2.5 with led light and cost me around 220 to my door. Its a great piece of gear for those quick getaways but I find it annoying when set up and need to pack it away for drives to the toilet. I find my gazebo much better when camped to far to walk from a toilet.

I just purchased a Rhino Sunseeker 2.5m with free 2m extension/side panel for $379 at auto one. A bit pricey but it will zip onto my Oztent RV5

X2 on this I have 2 dents in the drivers side of the tub after a gust of wind

I have 2m along car x 2.5m out if I was to buy again I would go 2.5m along car x 2 or 2.5 out this allows more shade if you park the car to the sun.

Was one of the first things I added to my truck, and one of the most used mods. Just a basic tigerz 11, 2m x 2.5mHasn't let me down yet been on the car 18 months. Cheap and good.
