hi there
I have the mistu standard canopy and I had to have the after market internal support bars put in . my local arb dealer would not do the bars because it was not a arb canopy . So I went to my local tjm and I had the bars fitted and after fitting the bars I had to go and change all the roof bolts because they put mild steel washers and bolts in it and started to rust so I had to replace them with stainless steel bolts and washers . wasn't happy , the original bars on top were taken off ,holes plugged and and cross bars fitted so I can Carrie my roof topper boat on the boat racks . so be careful what canopy that is fitted when you buy the vehicle because it will cost you in the long run.

I installed plates on the underside of my rails, the attached a flat mesh platform directly to the rails. Should be able to see on my avatar photo.

No problem, glad it helps.

The only things I would suggest, is know the load rating of the canopy / rails, and put a metal plate on the inside of your canopy where each foot of the rails bolt through to avoid the whole lot ripping out.

If it's the EGR manufactured canopy you have, what about this? http://www.egrauto.com/product/search/result?c=128

hi there
check the load capacity of the canopy I think the original mitsu canopy is only 50kg for the mn model and the max load for the cab is 80 kg that is why I had the internal support bars fitted to the canopy to increase the load capacity and 50kg is not much . and if you exceed the weight it will effect your warranty and insurance claims .
thanks merv

Interesting information mate thanks for that mainly it was to carry a tent and gas bottle etc about 40kg total so the weight should not be a issue hopefully

I one of the other threads maybe, I remember reading you need to half the load limit if going off road
