Tow bar on glxr mn triton

Postby bdrjnr on Mon Nov 27, 2017 8:48 pm

Hi all.

Posted something about this a few months ago... and i am none the wiser.

I went and saw a reseller of hayman reese tow bars.

I asked the question about the tow bar for step and non step. As i want to lift my tow bar higher for my off road camper.

He said to me non step version is for a cap chassis with an alloy tray. Were with step is for all with a tub..

Not sure if this is true..

Can anyone tell me if there is a a difference between towbar for glxr or a standard triton??

Thanks

Brad

Just be aware that with some of the higher tow balls, when your trailer is hitched up, will hit the tailgate when you open it.

There is a difference between the tow hitch designed for the GLX without a rear step and the tow hitch designed for Tritons with a rear step.

The one designed for use without the rear step sits a lot higher.

You could remove your rear step and fit the higher tow hitch but if you're going to do that then I'd suggest spending a similar amount of money on an after market rear bar/step with integral tow hitch.

Thanks for the responses everyone

My plan was to take rear step off, current genuine tow bar. Sell those and get a non rear step tow bar.

I want to put an xrox rear bar which is designed around the haymen reese tow bar. Last time i asked they couldnt tell me which one it was designed around.
