Qld sliders

Postby jop on Fri Aug 07, 2009 8:28 am

Hello all qlders, i have spoken to Errold at http://www.rocksliders.com.au/ this morning organising some sliders for my pajero.

If anyone is interested he has access to a triton to measure up and will give us a group deal if we get 5 or more.

His top of the range sliders are $810 for a set, but that will come down with the group deal, i will be getting the more basic sliders.

If anyone is interested post up so we can see if it is worth chasing up.

At this stage i will be taking the pajero in on monday for a measure up, so i will get firm pricing from him.

I'm definitely interested jop. :D

I don't know the pros and cons of the styles really to say which type though.

I would be happy with just the basic bar style, but judging by the crap I get under my sidesteps, I think they probably protect the sills and doors from rocks/mud etc and the basic bars wouldn't do that?

The next up painted plate that would offer stone protection looks slippery and I only stand on them to wash the car once every 6 months or so? Don't want to look like Humpty Dumpty with a sponge.

The checker plate version looks OK but is it worth the extra money?

I suppose a group buy would be one style, one colour only?

Sorry, but have no realtime experience with them so would be interested to hear from people that have had them.
I hate to advocate drugs, sex, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.

I would be keen.

Freight down to ACT might be a killer though... but still might be worthwhile....

Keep us informed.

I could be doing a run to Brissy in the next month or so to visit family....I could do a bulk pick up for the Sydney-siders who are interested.

We would be interested but would need to chase up some details of them.
How much they weigh and freight costs to WA?
I notice a few are commenting of frieght around the place killing them but not real sure. We order suspensions direct from Dobinsons and thought the freight was more than resonable. They advertise freight anyway so would guess that it can't be that bad.
Any chance you could ask whilst your in there next. Also the weight as we have a potential other freight option but would need to know the weight.
BTW the ones with the checkerplate for us.
Thanks heaps

Not trying to upset anything, but if i was in victoria or west i would probably look at Hazzard's sliders, freight would be heaps less.

How much are hazzards T?

If these ones from QLD are $800ish for the top of the range ones then the freight down south might still bring them in under hazzards... from memory hazzards were $1k+... but I could be wrong on that...

No, i ended up coming back early on monday

So interested members are:

Jop
Homer
Boo-ya
Smeghead?
Fireball
Choady?
4wd26?
Cyber09?

I will give Errold a call tomorrow and get some firm pricing and some idea of timing.
Once the numbers are locked in, everyone can deal direct with Errold for payment, we can work out freight amongst ourselves i reckon 8-)

I've asked Hugh from Hazzard for a quote on a set the same as in Choady's photo.
He also does them in a paint finish the same colour as the GLX-R flares.
I also like the look of the s/s boards Avenger does with the running board top.

G'day fellas, just spoke to errold, he is going to send me an email with prices and timing.

I also suggested he log on and deal directly with us, as brooksy has done with the lux forum.

Saves any confusion or misunderstanding on everyones part.
