new44, i paid $2050 for ARB steel deluxe winch bar including foglights, colour matching and installation in the Clare Valley S.A. a couple of weeks ago. Colour matching cost $220.00 so $1880.00 for black.

hope this helps

Wow, nice price, I paid $1948 colour matched and fitted, but that's an ARB bar being sold by TJM - so go figure ?
We have so little competition here in Canberra that even the competition sell the oppositions products

That was the wife this morning- maybe the insurance can repaint the bar.

Likes no problem to the ARB bar that a lick of paint wont fix.

ARB Bar colour coded to the same as the ML flares.

Airflow hasn't been a problem for me- but I did choose smaller driving lights.

Will be interesting in the engine temps come Dec- planning a 15,000km trip towing the van from Brisbane to Perth - going accross central NSW (Darling River Run and Mungo NP)

thanks for your pic 4wd26, i have a white ML and was thinking of the ARB deluxe colour coded to the flares, looks good :)

Hey Snowie, where did you get your brush bars and step...are they the ARB or Iron Man ones?
I hate to advocate drugs, sex, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.

ARB.

at the time they only did a combined step-brush bar. the jury is still out about them as now i would probably go sliders only (as they are now available via errold etc.). it is worth noting that these bars are NOT sliders and i am looking at adding some extra pipe immediately below the sills.

Damn brush bars make the car that much wider than it should be in parking situations and i (and the missus) have hit the fence, walls, columns (luckily no other cars or breakable objects yet).

one day i will be 4wding and they will save my front guards and i will be thankful!!

the way i look at it you will use slider protection almost all the time off road whereas the brush bars are not as useful. it is a shame the ARB units do not act as sliders (i am sure they could make them that way) and they were not cheap. i think around $1500 painted and fitted from memory.

If you have any reservations about fitting you are welcome to do it here at my place, have all the tools etc 8-) and if we do mine first then all mistakes will be corrected for a perfect fit for yours

Thanks Salt for the offer.

I would happily have paid $1476 3 weeks ago. Thats $190 cheaper than Albury.

I was lucky to win that brand new ARB bar off ebay recently for $1350.(no Fog)
It came from Warnambool ARB Boat shop.

I fitted the bar last weekend. The ARB stuff is a work of art.
It did take lots of time to complete properly, with lots of helping (interruptions) from the kids as well.
The brackets and steel work fit together almost perfectly. Give us a pm if your unsure about anything with the install.
I was feeling my through the instructions a bit. They are not as good as the product.
The Snorkel instructions I found were better, although the snorkel may have taken longer to install.

I am trying to decide (find the money) on suspension. ARB or Pedders, I would go Ultimate if it was easy ( no dealers nearby).

I am also keen on throwing a TJM winch in there before the suspension upgrade.
I am not sure if they will slot straight into the ARB bar easy.

Have you priced any suspension out of that Shep. ARB dealer?

Arrrrgggh too many decisions. I got a decent bonus at work - so I'm treating myself to a bar... and probably a snorkel.

Gunmetal Triton -

Black ARB deluxe bar (costs less)

OR

Gunmetal Ironman deluxe bar

OR

Flare colour coded Ironman deluxe bar

I have black steps - that could be colour coded however I want further down the track.

Not suspension mate no, but I am sure there must be a registered mechanic close enough to fit ultimates supension ;)
No hassles oredering or delivering ( delivery was quick) I have heard ARB suspension is $2000 plus.

How can we convince you to go Ultimate ? I believe you would not regret the decision 8-)

Have I earned a sprint booster yet Brendan....

I bought a King one (avenger) winch for $895. 9500 lb with steel cable, just waiting for the bullbar

So, for the standard OEM suspension, I would expect it would struggle with a steel bar (as per some comments above), but how about with an alloy?

Basically im trying to ascertain if it can be reasonably expected to get an alloy bullbar and not upgrade the suspension (at the same time), but still maintain handling etc...

Has anyone dont this (bar not suspension)? How'd you find it handled? Would you do it again?
