Basically im trying to ascertain if it can be reasonably expected to get an alloy bullbar and not upgrade the suspension (at the same time), but still maintain handling etc...

Has anyone dont this (bar not suspension)? How'd you find it handled? Would you do it again?

from reading this thread-http://www.newtriton.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=6126- and a couple of other comments on the site, i might answer my own question..

Forget that crap-ass OEM suspension mjwilmo, you'd be better off upgrading you're suspension in any case - regardless of whether you add a bullbar or not.

it would seem... one of us made a fair point though.

I remembered how much my Triton bounced around when i when on a gravel road to the coast.. couldnt believe how unstable and jerky it was... and that is without any added weight like rear step or bullbar.

Suspension will be close to the top of list of my 'to do' list.

Here's a bullbar AND suspension related question.. if you upgrade your suspension prior to getting a bullbar, will putting a bullbar on mess it all up? ie when the suspension is installed is it adjusted to take into account the current weight (front and rear), such that if you then added a bullbar it would screw it all up??

Suspension should be the last thing that you add unless you want to go to the extra expense of adding heavier springs each time you add more weight. The other option is to have the suspension fitted, that you figure you will need, then drive around in a bouncy truck till you add the extra weight.
Really need to work out what weight you are going to add though. Get your wish list together then cull off the pie in the sky items

In a nutshell, yes

I am fitting a bullbar and winch ( soon as the bar arrives) and have the Ultimate suspension to suit the bar. The front is a little firm but am sure it will settle down once the bar goes on, having said that the front springs ride very well and not harsh like some suspension I have experienced.....

I would recomend getting bar etc at the same time as your suspension or buy suspension to suit your intended use :)

Got the Sahara Bar (and snorkel) fitted on Friday... am happy with the install! No sign of problems with suspension yet but I guess it is early days.

looks great - doesn't spoil the front end design.

Just curious on effect on air flow to intercooler, etc? I have looked at some bars and they seem to just about block all the air flow.

There are quite a few cut outs at the bottom of the bar.. haven't been on a long drive just yet, if I notice anything I'll report back.

All arb's should be the same and I don't think any of us have had a problem.

Is that a leading question Q? I don't get what you mean.. I can see maybe an inch of the chrome above the bonnet from the drivers seat...

...I just got a sinking feeling the lights might be too big for the bar.
