I spoke to the guys at my local ARB and they have told me there brush bars and side steps are ADR compliant for air bags so all good as far as insurance goes. I know I will be getting a set of these as soon as funds allow they are well built and keep it legal.

Cheers travis

You would call them HD sidesteps in any case...as that's what they are.
I hate to advocate drugs, sex, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.

Cheers for the quick responses guys.

I was just a little confused when I saw hat ARB had them but when I looked closer at the parts list online it said tat they were not available for vehicles with side curtain aribags... But I'm not sure when that info came out (more than likely old news not updated)

I'm with you Travis, as soon as I can afford it they are at the tp of my list as well as a Rear Bar.

The way I drive i need all the protection I can get

Thanks Again

Well, just got off the phone with AAMI insurance who have bettered my last insurance price and given me a few little extra's like covering me for 4x4 and hire car should i crash!!! Lucky i am now with AAMI.

I asked about the "heavy duty side steps" and her response was that so long as everything has been listed on the policy than the accessories would not be a problem... I even asked if i could put some wings on it... but she said car insurance would not cover it whilst flying :(

I recently spoke to the Racv in regards to mods they said they didn't care as long as it is ADR approved. It's all good and well a young girl who has no idea telling you over the phone as someone else said get it in writing! Was also told that the sca go off once the vehicle goes over a certain degrees and should be disconnected when 4wd ing. The girl also told me I would be insured as long as I wasn't trying to climb mountains!! Seemed fairly vague to me! Asked her at what inclination was classified as a mountain she replied I will find out. She then told me as long as you're driving your car with in it's means it's covered!!

question time!, Legality of mentioned bars for glxr tritons with side airbags? TJM side steps aren't air bag approved. I'm assuming anyone with a glxr cant run sliders or is there some out there that are approved?

Here is a link to another forum where AVA is claiming to be able to manufacture them for vehicles with airbags.

Cheers mattz and haro. Theyre now on the list after the front bar or suspension. Probably suspension first lol.

I just received AVA sliders this week and the invoice said not airbag compliant for offroad use only. Its not a worry for me as I don't have side curtain airbags

Might bring this post back from the dead, just destroyed my drivers side ironman side step in the watagans the other week due to the brackets hanging lower than the chassis so now looking for something that will actually slide.

Anyone got MCC side step, Xrox or Legendex sliders on their mn and are happy with them and their offroad capability. Im looking at these 3 because of the look of the brackets online and airbag compliance is stated on website even though all manufactures refuse to answer the question of how?
