Injector fuel line failure

Postby Willg on Mon Apr 25, 2016 11:14 am

Had my 2015 PC Challenger in for its 30000 klm service, the next day I had to take it back to the dealer workshop on the back of a flatbed with a sump full of diesel.

Repairs done to injector fuel lines or injectors under warranty (they won't really say what work they did),said it was just a coincidence and nothing to do with the service.

Something to keep and eye on.

Sounds like a workshop stuff up. Not the first time we've heard a story like that one. You got off lightly though as that can total the engine if it goes badly.

Coincidence? No, they are lying. Incompetent mechanics a much more likely scenario..

biggest load of bullshit you will hear in a long time.

on the bright side at least you know they actually adjusted the tappets and not just the 'audible check'. 8-)

yeh, sounds like they didn't tighten the injector pipes properly and didn't do a leak test before giving it back to you. There fault for sure. At least they didn't try to blame bad fuel for it and get you to pay :-)

Always a lucky dip when the vehicle has visited the dealer!

Once you get it all straightened out I'd drop the oil after a couple of hundred kms and put in a fresh batch for piece of mind.

I was lucky, they only stuffed up the rocker cover gasket after the valve adjustment.

This sort of thing is what makes me avoid our local dealer like the plague. I'll take my chances doing my own servicing. Not for everyone I know and I do pity those who are getting 'serviced' by a crap dealership.

I think John Cadogan sums up shitty dealerships very well in his YouTube videos  .

Like when ya do your first service at 90k and find a fuel filter with a date stamped on it pre vehicle built date!
