Engine, ASC and traction control warning lights

Postby Mixo1234 on Mon Dec 18, 2017 5:24 am

Hi chaps new to the site looking for answers

I have a 2011 challenger and just recently the engine, ASC and traction control lights have come on, the car will run rough for a couple of minutes, give it a rev and return back to steady engine idol. Also the cruise control now dose not seem to be working...
I got it plugged in and error code for the No.3 injector came up but I would expect the car would run rough all the time not just every now and again????

Ant ideas please cheers and Thanks in advance

Faulty wiring loom(s) in engine bay?

Corrosion on connectors?

Other things that may be worth checking - air leak at fuel pipes at filter, stuck turbo vane actuator, but still sounds electrical.

Could disconnect battery and then undo and reseat connectors on all the sensors, injectors etc.

Let the battery be disconnected for ten minutes or so to discharge the system.

OK I'd then unplug each injector and check resistance with multimeter to see if they're all the same.

Then check the No3 lead as far as you can for any mechanical stress/damage.

Try some contact cleaner in the respective connectors for the injectors and use some dielectric grease.

Give it a test.

will I cause any damage to motor internals running the way it is????
It seems to be running worse for longer
Is there a relay that could cause the issue

Yes you could.
If it is running lean from a stuffed injector you could hole a piston crown and be up for a rebuild.
If you are not confident get it looked at.
Its showing you it's not happy

Ok update time

So the car will run ok then have a dummy spit for 5 mins then will run fine even on the highway for some reason it likes the higher rev range
anyway nothing open this time of year till the new year anyways

Would the mechanic not changing fuel filter last service cause this issue???? dirt fuel now by-passing filter?? I dont know just a big pain in the ass lol

Final update and car running well

Drove in to local dealership spent the $165 on getting there scan tool onto it...
They cleared the faults re-coded the injector to the EMS .....and all good
