New Challenger!!

Postby boycee on Mon Oct 19, 2009 4:47 pm

I don't know if anyone has seen one yet or if I am the first again, But i was driving around today and on the back of a tow truck was this brand new 4wd with all the badges covered with black gaffa tape.
On closer inspection it was the new challenger. Gotta say it looks great. triton front end and nice looking rear.

I took photos on th iphone but just have to work out how to get them up for you blokes to have a look. :?

Hope I win this comp too.
I hear first prize is a 1inch EFS lift kit.

2in lift and a set of MTZ's and i'd get a boner i reckon :D if it had a 2.5d in it, well that'd have the same effect as looking at Bronwyn Bishop

don't mind those rims, we are starting to get some choice.

They have done some work on the rear, looks very similar to the challenger of old.

Trailing arms are visable so its a coil rear end- as shown on the internet, but you never could tell with MMA

Yep, like the rims.
I hate to advocate drugs, sex, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.

Top of the range model price converts to Au$51,500. Not bad if that is what is offered here. :)

It's already in the show rooms here in South Africa. I took one around the block 2 weeks ago and it's ok-ish. It's about 12% more expensive than it's only direct competition here in South Africa, the Toyota Fortuner, and I'm in 2 minds if one can justify paying that extra money for something that's just about exactly the same as the Toyota.

BTW, we get it with the 3.2 only at the moment.

Same as Russia. Do you think it might be the fuel quality?
Europe had the 2.5 a couple of years before Oz so maybe the 3.2 can handle the lower grade diesel better with it's earlier technology?
Could be you both have cheaper diesel and the consumption isn't so important or maybe it's just the last of the old stock being used up in less picky markets?
:? :)

I read somewhere about amonth ago that the new challenger will only be available in the 2.5 TD (no petrol motor available), 400nm from the manual, gets super select, optional diff lock. and is built on the same chasis as the new Triton.

Certainly a Challenger, thought they would have put a cover over it
They are pretty much a Triton with a full body. I believe they will sell well if Mitsu market them properly. Dec/Jan release.
