Stuck MQ

Postby bobski on Tue Aug 25, 2015 8:18 pm

Am I the first numpty to get his MQ bogged? I thought I was going to be able to dig it out - got it about 5 metres - then it started raining. New to 4x4 so not much clue what I was doing, let the tyres down to about 18psi, but once the holes filled with water it was just slop and going no where on HTs.

Interestingly, appears to be no rear tow point?

Yep I didn't notice a rear tow point on mine either, only the 2 loops on the front of the truck.

I know nothing about 4wd so I can't give u any info but I do know that u should upgrade the wheels to some AT or MT tires and HT is terrible for soft grounds.

It still looks so clean, those slicks didn't throw any mud up at all
Is that on your own property?

If the MQ is anything like the MN's and Pajeros, you'll need to turn the ASC button off manually to allow the Traction control to work, I haven't had a good enough look to see the set up on the new ones
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything important, it's too late to stop reading it.

Yah this is our place. Not much acreage, but enough to get bogged on clearly!

I didn't play around with the ASC button, I'll have a read about that. Once we had a heavy shower, I wasn't going anywhere  the mud under the grass was about 20cm and just getting bulldozed along with the front wheels. Thank god for mates - even if they do have a hysterical laugh at you over the phone.

Don't feel too bad....after the snow melt a few weeks back a guy barely got his Land Rover Defender out of my paddock....and a few days later a Landcruiser with diff locks neede his winch to get out!
Whole place turned to slush...
