If and when the SPV one arrives will it be a proper solution or the same as this, does anyone know?

Who knows what other solution will work better.

Ive been offered a full refund which i accepted and am returning the item.

Like i said it does what is advertised, but with side effects of reduced boost pressure. :ugeek:

It will be a proper solution. And it will most definitely not be the same as this.

I seriously doubt Tony would release this without it being fully tested, as mentioned on a few posts in this thread, it took him some time for testing, to get it right. ;)

I gather their email server is a bit selective about letting emails through so that can create issues too.

I did caution that it may take a while, less than a week ago. I suppose these days anything more than an hour or two is a very long time, for some.

Tony is only one bloke. He gets more done in a day than 2 or 3 of most blokes I know, but there's still only so much a bloke can do. The difference is when you get his stuff you know it won't break your car and it will have been made by hand, in Australia, by someone who will still be around long after you hand over your hard earned.

Sounds like your a big fan of Tony's, good on you. You may have taken what I wrote a little bit out of context. I was keen to get this egr closed and was too impatient to wait for their reply, and have now bought a crisp mod one, which after reading this thread has now made me disappointed that I didn't just wait for your (Tony's) hand made Australian made wonder module.

If you go to
http://mmc-manuals.ru/manuals/l200_v/on ... dex_M2.htm
(this is the technical information manual).
Expand 13A DIESEL FUEL, scroll down to VARIABLE GEOMETRY TURBOCHARGER CONTROL.

There it is - input sensors into the ECU that influence Turbo control, which is why Greytriton got those interesting results.
1. Accelerator pedal position sensor
2. Crank angle sensor sensor
3. Engine Coolant Temp sensor
4. INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
5. Manifold absolute pressure sensor

EDIT: the INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR input is also used by the ECU for DPF SYSTEM CONTROL.

^ Which is why Tony said that this was not simply a resistor mod, other factors come into play with the MQ. My suggestion would be to hold out - be patient - and wait for Tony to reply to your emails, then get a product that you can safely install.

Tony wrote:Plugs are no problem.

MQ not quite same as others and I would give word of caution with DPF and EGR warm up etc. Also, some vehicles use sensors in same area for smart charge system.

SPVi have been through our own development on this model and we do have plug and play solution but due to our current work load, they have not been officially released.

Very true re the DPF up there a couple of posts. And when the DPF gets unhappy, the car is all but undriveable.

That manual on the Russian site leaves a bit to be desired some seems to be carried over from ML days.

Are you still running blank plate? Is it the one with the hole? Where did you fit it?

If you run a full blank plate it will throw a check engine light after a while but no limp as yet, just keep clearing it at the moment until a solution is found

So is everyone using plate with hole? Is this enough to stop any problems?

Are you running plate with or without hole?

OK thanks for that.
I have the Crisp module, but have decided to go back and install the blank plate with hole after talking with my regular mechanic, and remove the Crisp mod.
Blank plate worked without any issue, but I am concerned to how the ECU may be effected by sensor alterations from Crisp Mod.

IMHO, the best way to sort all this out is to get the EGR and DPF taken out of action via an ECU reprogram.

The cost of having this done, will be more than offset by the savings you gain from not having to have the manifold cleaned, the fuel economy from not having a choked manifold, and the lack of maintenance associated with the DPF.

Having said that, I know that there is another (less costly) hardware-based method that those with electronics experience can build (not a simple resistor mod), but I don't want to start another EGR battle thread

Tony's mod is probably going down a similar path (this is purely my assumption), so for those that have patience, I'm sure everything will be revealed in due course.
