Should the hard lid fitted to the rear tub of the MQ be dust sealed? On a recent camping trip I was amazed at the amount of red dirt in the back of the tub. I thought it would seal adequately.
Yeah. It's come in from the tail gate. What do people do who have a canopy with drawers and fridge etc..? That would do my head in cleaning up the crap after every trip off road.
They have a vent that pressurises the canopy, no reason you couldn't put a vent in the hard lid. Some extra rubber auto seals may also give a bit better seal.
Life is what happens while you are busy making plans........
I found the same issue on mine. I went over the entire tonneau cover and tailgate with new foam strip that I bought from Clark Rubber. In the end probably went over and above what was normally done and since then I haven't had an issue.
I also think that my tray may have previously had a canopy on it at some stage and it has the tailgate/tray seal kit in it.
Mine is a factory canopy and it has a window at the back which pressurizes the canopy to stop the dust never had a issue I just always forget to close it when im cleaning her off
