MQ Tailgate Strut

So....... I have a tailgate strut that I bought on ebay a while back. A friend and I who has an MN bought the same one. The link below isn't the exact one I bought but it is the same product with a different label and both this listing and the original one said that the same product would fit all Tritons through 05-16.

My friend with the MN installed his and had problems with the strut clashing with the tailgate itself and not allowing it to shut completely. After seeing that I half fitted it (without actually drilling any holes) and it appeared that I was going to have the same problem. After being discouraged by that I haven't looked at it for a couple of months, but I still would really really like to have it on there.

It looks like Viking Shippy on the forums has installed one and it's working fine which is encouraging

Has anyone put one on an MQ yet and if so did you have any problems???
