Warning - Tailgate struts that don’t fit.

This is a warning for owners of the current version MQ that are thinking about adding an aftermarket tailgate strut.

The ones sold on eBay and claiming to fit MQ 2015 on will not fit because the tailgate stay bracket is different.

Yep, found out the hard way. :(

Yeah I had the same issue, it fits with alot of messing around with it, but definitely not a good fit and wouldn't buy it again.

We had the same problem with ours but ended up buying the more expensive tail gate bracket replacements and the better styled strut and all works perfectly plus the tail gate is now so easy to open and close.

Do you have a link or photo of your particular unit?

this is the ones we bought. A little fiddling around but well worth the effort and the cost.

Works on Our Triton MQ and great for the other half as she found the original tailgate very heavy to lift.

Comes with easy to follow instructions, and you need to follow them to as the springs are very tight if the stopper falls out like we had one do.

+1 for the same item. Worth the extra $'s.

Did have to use 2 packing washer on the RHS hinge, and spent a couple hours re-aligning the tailgate though.

+1
Looks very similar to the Pro-Lift from http://unibee4x4.com.au/prolift-for-mitsubishi-triton/
Very easy to instal & works really well.
