standard height Bilstein rear shock absorbers

Hi
I have had my Exceed for three weeks and want to soften the ride a bit
Has anybody fitted Bilstein or Koni shocks and was there an improvement in the ride quality
Dont want to waste good money chasing my tail Thanks

Bilstein shocks are quite harsh riding over things like speed humps, very nice cornering however.

I had problems with the longevity of the shocks with them failing at around 60,000kms
