Upgrading to MQ: EGR blank required?

Finally have bitten the bullet and bought a MQ GLX+ which I'll pick up next week, then get the MN ready to be sold.

I'm thinking about the various add-ons already, I had a catch can and EGR blank (electronic) on my MN. I will put a catch can on the MQ, but wanted everybody's take; is the EGR blank still necessary? I've heard anecdotally that the MQ's don't suffer the same carbon issue as the MN, but would like to make sure with some other opinions.
