Thanks for that. But doesn't say where to start the un-clipping, and that's what worried me. So gave it another crack and found that the lower wing - prising from the silver side piece - was the spot to attack first. Doing both sides, I was then able to pop off the top half. Replacing is different though, you have to line up the entire surround as one unit and push in. If I did it in reverse to removing, it was impossible to get the lower clips to line up.
If anyone's interested I have the rear speaker wiring pins and colours identified.
