MR dash removal

Postby clip on Fri Apr 10, 2020 8:45 pm

Does anyone know how to remove the dash to access the head unit on the MR? I cannot find anything anywhere on the net. Surely someone has done it? The MQ was so easy, but the MR is scary and I can’t work it out. Thanks

do you have electronic heater controls or twisty ones?

They are the same to remove on MQ and MR

Electronic ones, but the surround is totally different to the MQ. MR side surround panels run down the length to the floor centre console, whereas the MQ finished half way down. I can't seem to find where the MR surround finishes.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

Thanks for that. But doesn't say where to start the un-clipping, and that's what worried me. So gave it another crack and found that the lower wing - prising from the silver side piece - was the spot to attack first. Doing both sides, I was then able to pop off the top half. Replacing is different though, you have to line up the entire surround as one unit and push in. If I did it in reverse to removing, it was impossible to get the lower clips to line up.

If anyone's interested I have the rear speaker wiring pins and colours identified.

Please let us know the wiring combination, looking at doing it in the next few days...

You can look it up yourself - it's detailed in the online manual.
