Replacement throttle, MT or AT?

Postby Robvenning on Tue May 25, 2021 11:56 am

Hello everyone, Ive been having severe trouble with my MQ Auto regarding power loss, stalling and general bad running on and off.
My mechanic told me it was a bas throttle position sensor and that I must replace the throttle. The problem is that we can fine the replacement throttle in stock, part number 1600A149, but we can find tons of replacement throttles for MQ manual trans models, part number 1600A148. Can I use the MT throttle, it has the same plug.
Im searched the internet and the forum and cant find anything regarding this.

Cheers in advance.

PS: I have a TCC lockup kit from wholesale autos, could this be interfering with my TPS?

Remove or disconnect the TCC lockup kit and see if the problem goes away.

Generally if a part has a different number then it will be different. Try Amayama or Partsouq.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

X2. If you add any accessories that interact or are connected to the vehicle's networks, there is a chance operational interference may occur.

I had the situation where I had inconsistent power delivery and the cruise control would randomly drop out.

It turned out to be caused by a HUD that plugged in via the ODB connection.

I started to have other strange issues, no gauges until the car was restarted, HVAC coming on and off, I disconnected my scan gauge and everything is back to normal, no studder or hesitation on the engine.

I suppose this means that i should never plug something like a scan gauge into the OBDII again.
