Need help, Low oil pressure, claiming not warranty

Postby AndyMq on Wed Jun 30, 2021 10:40 am

Hi guys.

Was driving on a trip and lost all oil pressure. Pulled over and got it towed to the dealer . They sent me pictures of damage in my engine seems to me could be a chain guard has gone through the chain but not sure, they just kept on saying to me it was the chain. They claim its not under warranty as its a wear and tear part. Can some one help me out with what I'm looking at and if it would be under warranty and they right direction to take this. 2018 triton 69000 on the clock. Upto date with services. About a month ago the vacuum pump gear shatter and they said they never replaced the oil or even looked in the sump for shrapnel as its a sealed system according to them.Any help would be great.

It's not up to dealers to give aprooval for warranty..mmal does saying that I'd contact them direct .. and get fair trading involved.. as cam chain followers /guides lasted 35k ..
On my ml.. another case of a dealer playing the unholy ritchous one cover their ass for previous indescressions with a vac
pump is my guess..

As above 100% just trying you on. Make sure you keep notes of what has been said to you date time who etc and past documents including vac pump. Its not reasonable at all for a chain/ guide to fail in that timespan/ km. Lots of info on web ACCC website. Give Fair Trading a call if After telling Mitsubishi you are prepared to take it further as the problem should not have happened if the car part was of “acceptable quality”.
