DPF TEMP 2016 TRITON

Postby Batchy31 on Mon Aug 09, 2021 11:12 pm

Hey Guys,

Am having some trouble with my 2016 MQ Triton and am questioning high EGT . Have been monitoring temp ranges through a scan gauge reading off the dpf catalyst temperature sensor and am finding that it doesn't take much load before the temp will climb well above 550 degrees. Running with cruise control active at 108 Ute will sit on 490 degrees , am curious to see what temp everyone else is noticing as they drive around without the DPF doing a burn? The ute has now been through 2 turbos both failing through the thrust bearing well failure and then having oil bypassing the seals and entering the intake system.

Regards
Trent

during a Regen temperatures in excess of 800 are normal. I dont think Regen normally starts till after 500 anyway

Hey guys,
I purchased the Ute second hand and the Ute had been remapped with a "mild" tune and had added a throttle controller fitted aswell. The Ute has now been returned to a fully stock state with original file reloaded and throttle controller removed. Would you say that if the EGT are above 500 in daily driving that is alright then if the burn doesn't start till above 500?!

EGT on an MQ with hot engine travelling up hill was 485, catalyst was at 460 and DPF was at 370 as no Regeneration was taking place.

Returned to idle and EGT was 205, cat was 215 and DPF was 285.

High EGT can be caused by lack of airflow through engine bay. Do you have a Bullbar? and lights? winch maybe?

I was going to say does it have one of those power robbing, restrictive pod filters or a K & N filter in need of a good clean
