4N15 reliability?

Postby Blakenic on Mon Nov 22, 2021 12:10 pm

Hi guys,

I have seen a few reports of overheating / oil pressure lost issues with the 4N15. I believe the overheating issues are generally the bull bars or mud caking the radiator.
As far as the oil pressure issues they seem to be all localised around the 70-90k mark, has anyone here experience any issues with them?

My MR only has 6,000km on it so far and is going great.

I havent heard of any oil pressure concerns on this engine. And overheating is rare, but normally caused by the reasons you gave.

Poor airflow over the engine and exhaust can cause craked manifolds due to excessive heat, and this is attributed to bullbars and winches and lights etc, blocking the flow

My MQ has just over 80k on the clock with no engine problems. It's had a hard life seeing the redline more then 50% of the time it's driven and always hard. It's been running at 240hp at the wheels. The only thing that's on it's way out is the transmission, from 2k rpm hard launches. The motor is still going sweet.
