Roof top tent frame for tub

Postby Fibbo1988 on Sun Jul 23, 2017 10:56 am

Gday all

Recently bought my first Triton - 2017 GLX+ with a tub. My question is how people would go about building/purchasing a frame for a roof top tent over the tub. I want the top of the tent to be near flush with the roof of the cab when travelling. I have seen the Thule frames which dont look too bad, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to do on the cheap.
Cheers!

Check out MCC 4x4 accessories. They make a T-rack for the tub.

Also, when you say that you want the roof of the cab to be flush with the top of the tent, do you mean when the tent is open or closed? I can't imagine it would be a very big tent if you had it flush with the top of the cab in the open position.

i was going to make the roof top at roof height max, but just wasnt enough room under for fridge ect.
canvas sides to go on soon as well as mesh for a bit of security.

Hi guys,
I am interested in installing one. I have seen the one in the following link:

http://www.performancesuspension.com.au ... i-089.html

I am quite new to this. Has anyone installed a Baja rack ute tub rack? I wonder how reliable the mounting system is. Does it require drilling? If two ppl sleep on the roof top tent (I assume 2XX kg), will the tub crack?
Thanks in advance. :D
