Only way to properly cure it is to take the box out and replace the bearing, but if it still fairly new and not many k's should be a warranty job.....

No the noise is the bearing when it is off the pressure plate, when pressure is applied it locks the bearing as such , stops it freewheeling.

The bearing can not be misaligned if you clutch is working, as it is held in the clutch fork arm normally by spring clips. So if yours is making funny noises or seems to have a judder then possibly one of the clips have given up.

The noise has not reoccured but the clutch pedal still doesn't feel smooth when it is depressed. Have also been off road numerous times since.
