Still no bull bar so on it goes... I ripped out the crappy paper speakers and installed some quality mid drivers with separate splits through some crossovers. Oh and there is an amp under the driver seat that drives them.

I had to nibble out some of the metal to get the 6'' drivers to fit in, I have them spaced out as far as i could to get the massive magnet on the back to fit.. They are 6'' image dynamics from my last car so I had to make them fit.
The sound damping material was another members idea that works fantastic... no vibrations in the doors and sound is amazing! specially cranked up. ;) I mounted the crossovers in the door pockets because it does get wet inside the doors when it rains believe it or not.

Looking good mate. Did you raise your amp off the floor? These things leak like a sieve. I've gotten wet carpet from nearly every river crossing I've done.

Cheers motoz, so yeah good point I used nuts and bolts like stilts to raise it a bit. Not really too worried if it gets wet cause its only a j-car cheapy. ;)

There're not a full on rock slider but should still take a fair beating. I did actually buy some real good bush skinz sliders (dual cab ones) thinking they should still fit.. But noooo! club cab body mount was in the way of the rear mountings. So flogged them to some looser in a cyber blue ML

Next came the 32'' 250watt LED light bar from 4wd supplies! Thanks Glen.

So yeah I got a great deal on this a while back along with some other little goodies from 4wd Supplies forum business subscriber and all round nice guy (Boycee) ;) Thanks mate.
The light output is crazy bright as you can imagine, It really makes 4wding at night a pleasure! The light is really wide spread and bright white! I wouldn't replace your spotties though if all you want to do is spot 2k down the road ;)
As you can see I mounted them under the alloy roof planks. I had to use longer bolts to make it through the thickness of the plank which meant removing one of the end caps from the light bar and sliding the swivel mounting right out so I could replace the bolts, fairly easy to do. ;) I was concerned at first if I would cop any glare off the bonnet but to my surprise there is non at all. :D I'm really happy with the out come. Oh and it comes in handy when somebody cuts me off.

Sorry mate I missed this... I got mine from this site - http://caravansplus.com.au/catalog/prod ... ts_id=9635

Seem's their price's have gone up a little bit but still very cheap compared to a long range replacement. They say 70lt but the most I have ever squeezed into mine is 58 litres. There's much larger ones if you need it though. ;) When I think of it i'll post some more pic's of how mines set up.

http://www.poly.net.au/index.php/shop/vehicle-rv-4x4.html
from the looks of the tank this is the original builder- lots of sizes to choose from.

I hope the tanks hold what they say as I'm about to spring for the wheel arch tank- which is 55L

can also find them on ebay ;)

would love to see how you have mounted yours under the tray- looked a long time ago regarding the slimline under tray tank and fitment with the standard tub......

Yeah these are the same tanks. There is no way I can get close to 70lt. The Reason is that the filler pipe comes off the side so the level of fuel doesn't make it to the top of the tank... Maybe if I was parked on a steep hill and filled it up I could get the max capacity though.

you don't have the filler pipe plumbed above the tank opening?
very keen now to see the setup

The filler is plumbed above the tank but has side entry where it enters the tank.

where does the air breather pick up from out of the tank?

diesel being fluid should fill up to the top of the spout regardless of where the entry point is, only thing that could stop that is a air lock ;)

If you check out the pic of the tank on page 2 you'll see the breather pick up is at the same height next to the filler pick up so I think once the fuel reaches this level then that's it. So they should really say ''55 useable liters'' not 70  Anyways 130ltr in total is ok so no real drama. ;-)

So the day eventually came when I got my bull bar! :D

With the much appreciated help from Davebo one Saturday morning we started pulling my tri apart.

What have you done to my truck? What do we do now? Click to view larger picture

Davebo's reply was ''we need beer''
So a quick call to my fiance' and she was down with a couple of six pack Corona's! I love her so much! 8-)

So while she was here I put her to good use ;) while Davebo drank beer. Click to view larger picture
I used my mates trusty air saw again to do the bumper cut and flares. It has great control when doing these sorts of jobs. 8-)

This was test fitting before I cut the flares or the guard. We bolted it up and them measured how much and at what angle that the cuts had to be made at. This worked really well and we had it right first time around. Although I think Davebo was getting a bit over it as I insisted we keep adjusting it up, back, down, across. I think he thinks I'm a bit fussy! :o

Sorry no more pic's of the bar install. So after we got the bar on we started on the side rails.. We got the passenger side on ok BUT... No bolts to do the driver side. :o Bloody Opposite lock are killing me! :x
We had the holes drilled and we tried to just get it on with cable ties but it was no use! So being late we called it a night!

We were up early the next day for the NTN Ourimbah 4wd day trip that Vikingshippy had organised. :D It was a great day had by all. See trip report here - viewtopic.php?f=25&t=11783&p=278580&hilit=Ourimbah#p278580

Here's a pic the very next week once I got my other side rail on.
