Any know what this is? Appeared after my last service so I am assuming recall or part change. Click to view larger picture
New reverse lights just 10w flood. Work very well through the tint. The ones on the sports bar meow are twin 3w LED for the work lights.

I like your remodelling of the tailgate there jamo

Reverse lights look good though, can only assume they work even better 8-)

I had cracking/separation at the front of my tub and mentioned it at one of my services. They took some photos and a couple of weeks later they called me up and said Mitsu would fix it under warranty :D So i then took it on the outback trip and shook it to pieces a little more and got it repaired

Had a awesome trip to bylong creek. Hopefully some pics coming soon.
Triton handled very well, learning more about the handbrake method with TC.
All Was going well till a mate on a YZF450 lept out of the gully and and crashed into my triton so now I'm chasing a front passenger side guard without a protaper bend or brake reservoir in it. Another mate came off at high speed up near the top camping ground and shattered his pelvis, dislocated his right foot and broke 2 toes.

A return trip would be good with only 4wd's lol everything is a tad more extreme now :D

Tray, rooftop tent and long range tank for the high country :D

Next big question low range gears or front locker next?

I didn't even know that. I'm really impressed by michell. But that is what in looking at to get on top. I want the tray to finish near flush with the cab and the RTT to sit as low as possible. That makes it a nightmare for canvas so alloy gullying box was my next choice.
I want to compromise between possible work ute and aerodynamically as practical tourer.

Quick update

i havent heard about my tray in a few weeks, it should be ready very soon,
the venoms are on back order.

RTT came in, it came on a pallet and the bloke loading it had no idea, there were a few boxes with it. i thought it would be annexx, pegs, ropes. so i took her home and opened it up. the extra boxes were ironman shocks and shackles. so i did the right thing and took them back.. after i checked to see if they would fit on the triton :D..

i have always wanted maxtracks or the like, but wasnt a fan of paying $300 for plastic. i remember reading a 4wdAction mag when they did a comparo of all the traction aids, they had a set of waffleboards and i loved the idea bridging. i chased up the price but didnt have the cash. Anywho ebayUK was the easiest source but took forever to organise. In the mean time i kept googling and found "tufftraxx" here in Australia.
Yet to be tested.

Driving home from helping the old man with some concreting, Autopro had their opening sale 25% off the entire floor stock. so i took advantage of the engel range they had. i wanted the 40L but they dont stock them on the floor so i grabbed the 32L. which in turn might be a good compromise with tray space.

i was keen to get out and test the tuff tracks but my little 4 legged friend broke his leg, so most of my time is now devoted to him. poor little fella has the biggest heart and is a giant sook.
He took off behind me and ran out of leash, did a kind of corkscrew backflip and spiral fractured his tibia.
poor kid :(

so while keeping him company i slowly finished the first stage of the tidy up project.

i know they are pricey but they are neat, labeled and the mechanism feels strong.
this task took my forever and just wouldnt work easily.
the original idea was as it would seem, carling switches, female spade terminals. until you go to close the lid..
next option was the switch housing to gain a few mm and right angle insulated spade terminals or "insulated flag terminals" but you need a special crimper and hard to find here in OZ, this method is a tad pricey. next up solder.
everything is soldered in such a way that it cant move. all connections have to break before it comes free.
the next drama was trying to get the cables to run freely to still operate while pivoting. there are some extra "speed holes" in the housing.
next was load, each light is 19 ohms, 2 lights per switch. all paralleled up is around 8amps. Cat 5 which i use for relay control is only good for around 800mA. so 2.5mm cable is good for 20amps. so i had to run another cable.

Great job Jamoglxr good idea on the cat 5 saves a lot of wire.
The main feed is fused at battery right...?
What protects the cat 5side of the circuit ?
To the relays..

10a fuse protects all on a aux power cct that powers USB chargers and a single 12cig outlet that hardly gets used,
since the console lives with 3.something amps constant draw I can't see the reason for fusing the cat5 it's only ever going to get 7 amps in 1 core for a split second at worst.
If 1 core dies I have 2 spare cores.

hi mate i like the switch setup have u checked the current draw on them lights with a current meter, 8 amps seems a bit high for a neon or led light.

im looking to to the same thing with cat 5 but with interface relays to control lights etc with a zombie mode lol

gotta have zombie mode

Its DC and im pretty sure they are incandescent. so i just went on ohms law.

19 ohms a light is 631mA
0.631A x 12lights= 7.5amp

6 x 150mA = 900mA

7.5A+0.9A = 8.4A

anyone else run carling switches. mine run quite hot to the touch.
im not sure about neon and DC ~
