Jerry Can Holders. In a tub. Where to mount?

Hey all.

Looking for a way to mount some Jerry Can holders, in a tub.

Without going down the road of a new rear bar, with fuel carrier.

What have you got, made, fixed on?

As its probably illegal to mount fuel outside, on the rear of the vehicle, have you considered mounting a couple of jerry can cages inside the tub?
Don't let the b'strds get you down!!

I have heard others talking of it being illegal for jerry can holders outside the vehicle but can't find much on it. there is some literature on whether it is in an impact zone in case of accident.
When I have them I have pack them in the back tub & wedge them in with gear so they don't move.
But on the camp trailer I do have them mounted on the outside on each corner & front so hopefully it's not illegal.
How many are you carrying ?

because they are heavy when full I like to have them placed against the front wall of the tub.

I carry 1 spare water and 1 diesel (and sometimes another one) wedged into place with a crate that holds my recovery gear

I can access these by releasing the ratchet strap that I hold them in with using the factory tie downs ;)

I reach in through the canopy window and if I have packed well enough drag them out through the window without upsetting everything else, and can stay like that for the entire trip if I don't need the fuel or water

just make out the diesel jerry in front of the fridge and cargo box, water is beside the diesel
have it all pretty much tetris'ed into place having bought items that each complement each other
