2. Any suggestions for what brand/type of speakers sound good?
I listen to heavy metal music (if that helps) also due to not wanting to cut bigger holes in door or anything, is there a brand of speaker that fits perfectly into the cavity without having to make anything to pack it out or make it fit. And not looking to spend hundreds of dollars!
Thanks

Since I do a bit of bodywork I find it interesting to see what manufacturers do. Sometimes it's just a small pad, other times a strip of (usually) a bituminous filled dampener. The idea is just to stop resonance - it's unlikely that it actually improves the sound other than removing resonances which, does actually improve the sound, without actually improving the sound.
Gawd that was an awful sentence, but you know what I mean, I hope.
Cowboy Dave wrote:Yes the amp acts as a crossover. sort of.
In that it takes 4 channels in and puts 6 out.
So 4 in is 8 wires.
6 out is 12 wires.
That's 20 so far.
At least 2 earths from memory.
Then you've got a positive trigger from the head unit.
23 so far?
Fused 12v+ makes 24.
Can't remember the other 3. Maybe ignition or accessory positive?
I've got it all written down somewhere from when I bypassed mine.
