Having driven an MN recently and taken the new MQ out today all I can say is chalk and cheese!
None of that laggy, peaky crap the MN dishes up....I was tootling along at just over 1,000rpm in sixth no worries. Pulls strongly from under 1500, beautiful!
I agree the gearing is a tad on the tall side, 3.6 could maybe be swapped for something around 3.8-3.9 for improvement, but minor.
Sooooo quiet and refined...so damn easy to drive.
Sixth is very rarely going to be useful. Highway without a heavy load.

Ride and handling nice.
The engine is just so damn flexible it's amazing.

I want one hard core.....but it's only about $20k over my budget so I'll have to content myself with looking at late MKs or early MLs until I can afford a demonstrator....

Until now I hadn't driven a ute that was better to drive than the current generation Hilux....but I have now!

Someone compared it to a Great Wall a few pages back.......having driven one of these with low kms on it just last week I can only laugh at the comparison!
The Great Wall was the worst vehicle I have driven for a LONG time!!! The last vehicle I drove with a gearshift that bad was an ancient bus that everybody hated....
If you think a MN is laggy it doesn't compare to a GW!!!
Horrible piece of crap!!!

Just looked at some u'tubes on lux and the Mitsui looks far more refined internally, Lux's dash looks to 'busy' and cluttered.

I see the 2017 Pajero gets the same 2.4 TD motor as the MQ Triton...

Here is a minor update for the Geneva Motor Show.

http://www.gizmag.com/mitsubishi-geosee ... pts/42035/

"Mitsubishi plans to get a little outdoorsy at this year's Geneva Motor Show, where it will debut two matching Geoseek concepts. The L200 Geoseek pickup and ASX Geoseek crossover wear equipment and styling inspired by the great outdoors and will bring a hint of fresh air and wide open spaces into the auto-packed Palexpo convention center."

Must have the new lead bull bar as standard equipment, to keep the front wheels in touch with the road.

Rock slider steps are a thoughtful addition too.

Next gen Triton could be a Navara since Nissan taking a 34% controlling interest in Mitsubishi :o

Will the next Pajero be based on an uprated Trail/Koleos?

Corporate execs at Mitsui in Japan seem to get in trouble more than the competitors, what's going on?

That concept looks more a confusion of lines than being 'chunky'.

All hyperthetical in my environment, the ML will be plowing on until it drops dead.

Looks schmick. Lots of the new cars' front ends look like part of the grill panel has fallen off though.

So this is someone's concept but must admit I like it. Would be great for Mits it terms of rationalising parts as well!
