There has been a lot of posts on the MN engine over heating issue, which has made a lot of MN owners nervous. thought I would start a thread to see how many MN's are out there with decent k's and no over heating issue.
Mine 2011MN glxr 125K no issues ( hope I haven't just jonahed myself)
2012 GLX 120,000 has a heavy steel tray with loaded toolboxes, bulbar etc, tows most days, no major issues at all, I got one of last ones with the 160,000 km power train warranty so will be keeping it until then and probably trade it if the engine hasn't been replaced whilst under warranty. Been a great ute!
About 85k on my first one (2011) and then just ticked over 30k on my second (2014) no issues with either yet touch wood. Starting to think if I get to almost 100k on this one will just keep it forever in the hope that the big issues seem to rear there head in the first 100k
2010 MN manual 117300km , canopy replaced under warranty, 3rd gear synchro replaced under warranty, cooling campaign done. Gets great fuel economy (7-8 l/100km), temps are good (82-92). It's a keeper.
120,000 km on 2011 mn glxr still going strong and about to get put on dyno tune to get a bit more torque to pull my new outback camper never had any issues with her yet as always looked after her service wise
2011 MN 100,000 km cooling service campaign done, clogged maf sensor about 12 months ago. Intake manifold starting to show signs of clogging . Timing belt just done no other issues. Will be keeping.
I used to be uncertain but lately I'm not so sure.
As i said 198000 km earlier, no major problems, now the question is i would love to embark on a large long trip around Aus, would you be comfortable setting off in a 200,000 km small diesel with its reputation, should i risk it ?
100 000 kms no issues at all (well none that weren't caused by exuberant 4wding )
There are 5 other people who own one at work, 4 are issue free but one is on its second engine (though they only replaced the top end the first time for some reason).
MN 2013 70K, no issue with a few mods, apart from the clutch but was from off road abuse. And this one gets abused off road most weekends. Body work bit bashed but the interior when cleaned properly comes up like new.
2012 GLX. 50k no problems. Cooling campaign carried out before I owned it which would have been pre 30k.
Glad this post was started as I was starting to get nervous with all the cooling system and EGR issues etc. I understand that people generally post on forums such as this when they have problems so no worries there but it is good to have a post looking on the bright side.
I will continue to dream of a desert trip out to the red centre.

There are 2 on this forum, that I am aware of, that have done well over 220,000km
I love cats, but I couldn't eat a full one!
Mud is like unprotected sex 30 secs of fun for a lifetime of grief
2011 glxr 60k and only issue was srs, never had a cel and runs like a top! I may be dreaming but seems there isn't a great deal of 2011 models that have had the bad engine, here's hoping, seems a lot of 12 and 13 models I'm hoping mine continues as is for some time yet!
